Sounds good. But which ones are any good? In particular, which ones are reliable? Because the whole reason for changing is because the third party calendar/contacts/email etc app I have been using on my phone (which has excellent functionality and does all the things I want it to) has to be synchronised with Outlook by its own sync software, which sometimes works just fine, but sometimes randomly deletes large amounts of my data - either on the phone or the computer or both.

Some time over half term I'll be firing up the very nearly defunct predecessor to my current laptop and going through my contacts list comparing with what's left of the contacts list on my usual laptop after the random deletions. I only switched to this new one in January, so most of my contacts should be on the old one and I should be able to put most of them back in.

So you will understand why I am feeling a bit wary of third party apps unless they come with reassurances and recommendations from somebody trustworthy.

Oh Spirit. So sorry to hear you are feeling so helpless. Hoping for the best for tomorrow for you.

I have a little diary in my handbag, 1 week-per-view that I sync manually to my calendar in the kitchen draw. I use a device known as a pen.

Wow. Great care. If only all patients got that when it was needed.

    I know, I was amazed.

Last two (private) consultants have given us personal emails and mobiles, but I think to get a follow up call from an out of hours GP from small community hospital visit at the other end of the day is right up there with pretty complete care. The kind NOONE could complain about.

I think there is an element of covering back but, tbh, what isn't professionally now. Either way I'm grateful for the end result, which was checking up on me.

Hope you are able to get him to talk at least a little bit about what he wants and doesn't want.

I remember my mother telling me how nervous she felt about meeting LNE's parents for the first time - which was during our engagement. She said, "What will they think of us? I mean, they're probably normal!"

I think DS2 worries we won't look normal and that we think that everyone else is like us.

My parents met my in-laws without being aware. Turned out they had a mutual friend who heard from one side or the other that we were together and got the parents together without us knowing. I always thought the mutual friend was nosy. I was not impressed. As it happened parents and in-laws got on well and had they lived nearer I'm sure they would have been friends.

You only do good...you make me think about treating adult children as adults. I am (as a mother) naturally programmed to say/do the wrong thing.

Finally at 4.40 pm I was low enough to go shopping in the village.

Home by 5.30pm and tested again and I was heading to low. Ate carbs and that sent me high ish. Have to eat supper so had fish and salad no carbs. Tomorrow DD and I are going through NP territory to a Christening. A return journey in the day , and we are meant to split the driving...if I have this kind of day tomorrow I will not be fit to drive.

Had originally planned to stay overnight (tonight) because of travel and managing the fluctuating diabetes, but my other acute problem makes staying away [STRIKE]very difficult[/STRIKE] impossible.

I have absolutely no idea how I will be in the morning and the lack of control is to use a technical term doing my head in.

Pffft. You're a great mother from what we see IMO. The nice children are all probably nice because they have parents who have parented with concern and thought.

    Take care.

The staying away, the practicalities of daily living, its the kind of thing that's hard to explain to people who are well or have easily controlled situations. You dd would, I think, rather drive and have you both safe and sound, than any other option. We're considering a day trip on Monday ( we have an arrangement that we are rain checking on Monday morning ) but its hard to explain how difficult these things can be. This is about three hours driving. I would have thought that was nothing were I healthy, and sniggered at British distances, but now I fmd the lead up and stuff can be a pain. I know I can rest Tuesday, but might have scans on Wednesday. Will a day between be enough? I dunno, but it messes everyone around if I do and then cannot. Or me around for potentially weeks or longer if I go ahead when unable. Its these kind of things that are hard to explain. I can keep a pretty good facade often or genuine feeling of health many days, for a day or so, its when you try and 'just get back to normal' or something fuller, more.....satisfying, less centred on keeping even, things go to pot. Its hard to explain to people who 'don't get it'.

I didn't used to get it.

Though, best place to find oneself unable of more is a hospital I guess, so I'm ok. But, pace your self spirit. Have you got any further appointments to discuss controlling these levels? Does your daughter know, for example, your medication names and dosages? I am trying to get in the habit of keeping these in my bag so i can offer them if I need to with little warning, or...someone can rummage for them.

I was surprised for example, the ood didn't have access to my records. I thought they would now. He said only GPs do but I'm felt sure they could at my favourite posh hospital. Current chain don't.

    .

Lol. But you don't think like that of course. We're all different here yet you are a lynch pin. :)

Lynchpin looks wrong. Like a lynching, RATHER THAN WHAT I MEANT. Is it my spelling or have I done a lir and got the wrong phrase? I dunno.

Anyway. I think you prove your son wrong here.

When I've got a house .... I plan on using the wall calendar with pen .... no little diary in a handbag as [a] I've not got a handbag it'd be a faff to write things in it and sync [c] I go so few places in a year that I don't need to keep notes.

The calendar would be to remind me of things I could go to, rather than things I am going to .... e.g. when/where markets are on, or events I might go to (e.g. the annual food festival that I forgot 2 weeks ago), courses I might go on ... so a calendar of things "out there" to be dipped into and chosen when I'm in the right mind to want to do something.

I have a calendar on the kitchen wall. I also put things into my work calendar. My paper calendar has vw campervans on it. I picked it up in the Jan sales so I very nearly ended up with one with fluffy little kittens.

I am filthy (not like that, michaels ;)). I've spent the last hour crawling around on the garage floor in the latest episode of Nikkster versus something heavy and stuck together.

My table is now in it's new home though :)

I think it might be a little big for the room (I think it will comfortably sit 6), though the room will feel bigger when it's not being used for storing things I've not dealt with yet.

Turns out that as well as being screwed in place, the table top was also glued to the base. Not sure how well it'll fix back together but I'll deal with that somehow.
    I like the tables style.
If I had something like that, it'd take me years to decide what would go with it in the room! Colour scheme will be dominated by it (unless you're going to change it).

Remember the conversations about picture frames?
I measured 1 poster today. I've another 4 to measure. However the one I measured is size A0, ie 841mm high, by 1189mm wide.
Where can I get a frame that size?

Camper vans > Kittens .... they make you look more cool/trendy than soppy and wet :)

In real life kittens > camper vans as they're cheaper to buy and easier to keep .....
