Don't resist. Having what can only be described as a beach in your back garden is a POSH ALERT!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. There'd be plenty of places to use it .... shed's getting a beach hut stripey paint makeover too.... that'll need sand round it.PasturesNew wrote: »Toes .... sand is for toes ..... and immediate chair proximity. I'm thinking a strip about 2' x 6' as bare minimum, then working out from that spot depending how it looks .... with enough at one end to make a few sandcastles with my little plastic bucket...
The main pathway's a contender too ... and round the shed. I'll be doing it slowly/slowly, not ordering 10 cubic metres and having it dumped
One issue with sand is it can attract cat poo .... so I need to evaluate the area for that too....
When I saw the first post I thought she is building a litter tray.
Sand in any quantity will be the loo of choice for all cats in the neighbourhood.
Every sand school/menage I have ever seen has had a cat crapping in it.
Our daughter' s childhood sand pit had a large sheet of marine ply over it as it was the destination for every moggy around.0 -

Pn thinkipng of something with a lid occurred to me something square would let chair be ON the sand. Also, something that sort of size, with instead of a low cover lIe, that but a tall one

Could have hooks on it for a sail for shade on summer, or a waxed something for shelter in less clement weather, so you could sit out there with your toes in sand on a wet warm day JUST like at the British seaside.
LOL ... well, we'll have to see. I want to do the bare minimum.
No need for extravagent gestures/designs....No it doesn't.:)
To clarify, are you saying I still sound like a tight old biddy? Or that I don't sound like an exciting renegade?

Yes ..... but I'm ahead of the curve as I'm aware their little furry bottoms seek it out..... so the question is how many furry bottoms are in close proximity ... and find it.When I saw the first post I thought she is building a litter tray.Sand in any quantity will be the loo of choice for all cats in the neighbourhood.

Sneaky little things aren't they ..... if I keep the sq ft to a minimum it's possible to protect it .... which is why I'd want to go slowly/carefully.0 -
Just been watching a list of people on the telly who've died recently. John Coles. Mel Smith. That Gandolfini fellow.

You could have the chair outside the sand and positioned so your feet would be in the sand. Given that you will need to shut your eyes to imagine the sea, it would work. You could play "wave music" to make it really authentic.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thank you to all the NP offering to help. :T
Hopefully I have remembered everyone...and thankyou everyone. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
