    Yes.

It seems once you have it you kind of have it. I'm going to go over the trees tomorrow to see if I can remove any more infected bits and get rid of it that way, its a light infestation ATM, mainly on my 'invincible' ( lir makes a bitter snort). But, my experience with things like black spot is that that's unlikely to work.

I might try an an armillatox spraying, but I'm doubtful.

Oh that is a shame, I admired your attention to detail in planning and executing this.

Do you scrape or cut away the infection?

I do not usually use weedkiller but have some very resilient nettles around the veg patch and in the chicken run along with ground elder elsewhere. I gave in a few weeks ago and weed killed the nettles near the veg patch and the ground elder. The nettles have finally shown signs of dying off but the ground elder was flourishing.

Yesterday I bought a nuclear option weed killer and as the chooks were not in the run soaked the nettles in there and did the ground elder again. Today both lots look like it is working.

Today I think I prefer weedkiller to a non chemical approach as I have dug stuff out, cut it back, covered it in black membrane pretty consistently and still have the ruddy weeds.

I have been meaning to ask.

I have used to types of stirrup which I like in different scenarios and wondered if she had tried other to help with knees/ joints when riding.

The first is flex stirrups. I only like these for school work personally, but know others who swear by them for joint issues.

But the ones I like best for everything, and which make a surprising amount of difference to my knees are ones with offset eyes, like this
http://www.bettersaddles.com/acatalog/stirrups400.jpg. Just that help which should be negligible is a little less torsion. Its not why they are designed like that but I find it helps ( I have dodgy medial ligament in right knee, from way back, horse related injury, but my right knee has always been a little unstable, not in the way hers will be but it occurred to me it might help)

Thanks I will tell her. I am non technical on equine kit. She is still riding but usually rides 'long' to accomodate her knee. She cannot starighten her leg tonight and has decided to try a bath...should not bathe with strapping on:mad: She is in pain and just looking for relief though.

Are you home alone or have you a strapping son to rescue you?

Home alone, though TBH I doubt either strapping son would be much help.

Well not had TV on since last Sunday night so thought I would look at the listings to see what was on and what I can watch. The answer seems to be nothing.

I need to do some ironing and had thought I could watch TV whilst doing it. So I will do it in silence.

Mash potato is far nicer and healthier than chips.
    Sorry, I disagree!
Actually, I'm not keen on mash or chips. Prefer Jersey Royal new potatoes, or other new potatoes, or baked.

You'd like my fork-mashed lumpy spuds then :)

I hate the mash that's beaten until it resembles wallpaper paste.... the stuff you get in canteens etc.

I'll be doing some dawn raids on beaches for the softest sand ... me, a shovel and a car park by the beach at 4am :)

    :)

I'll perfect my "nothing shifty going on here" look .... should get away with it all right. Alternative is to do a water raid.... arrive by blow up canoe... shovel sand in .... paddle away fast. No number plates.

Please can you send me a copy of the local paper with it's forthcoming 'sand theft - culprit escaped by canoe' story :rotfl:

Edit: How about some play sand? e.g. http://www.tesco.com/direct/tesco-play-sand-10kg/210-8736.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=210-8736

Restoration Man just started on More 4. A church with an active graveyard around it.

Llanreithan Church, Pembrokeshire - bloke's in deep !!!! with it as he had no idea how restrictive it'd be. It's medieval and so everybody wants a look in (archaeologists, conservation, etc etc). He's got no experience... and started by digging out the church floor, but didn't realise he wasn't allowed to do that without an archaeologist standing beside him watching .... and he can't dig up the path without permission ... and, due to its age, there are over 3000 bodies (marked and unmarked) in the ancient and modern graveyard.

No budget, no mortgage (can't get that until he has all the certificates etc) .... of course he'll pull it off, they always do.

Archaeologists want several £000 and they had no money so the Stepfather lent them the money. £600/day for archaeologists they don't want. That's one of the certificates they'll need to get the mortgage. And they found a bone after 2 hours outside - and bones inside the church too. End of the day though, no bodies found, just a few random bones. Then stepfather decided he'd bankroll it for them.

I sometimes wonder if some people have got an important synapse missing :(
