No, I'd have been perfectly happy with Ben(jamin) or Jon(athon) or Dave(id) etc, it was OH who chucked all of those, and not because of shortenings. Rather because of, in order, Netanyahu, the letter "J" and "it's too angular looking". I didn't say his reasons had to make sense or anything.......much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

As part of my write-off of this week I was going to do !!!!!! all tomorrow. But I've just remembered it's my mum's birthday and she's back from her mini-break. So I'm not allowed to do nothing.
I've done very little today. I've drunk wine, played Call of Duty, watched TV, and (this is the win for the day) done all the washing up!
So I've decided I'm going to mope and feel sorry for myself for the rest of tonight until I go to bed, but tomorrow I've got to get up and get cracking. That's the cut off. New day tomorrow, I can't carry on like this forever.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

It's good you've found one you trust. Can't say I have...
Names: Ethan, Jack, James, Jared, Joel, Jonothan, Ron, Thomas are all good Hebrew names as are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

That's the spirit! Give yourself a chance to be sad for a bit then give yourself a kick up the Aris' and get on with life.0 -
Someone I know has three sons, Noah, Joseph and Reuben. Could be a theme going there. Can't help with the J problem, and I can see with a surname beginning O any first names starting with B are also best avoided!neverdespairgirl wrote: »No, I'd have been perfectly happy with Ben(jamin) or Jon(athon) or Dave(id) etc, it was OH who chucked all of those, and not because of shortenings. Joshua, Joseph, Samuel.
I personally like Benjamin, youngest was going to be a Benjamin or Samuel until hubby came up with Jeremiah...he then became something else!
Ok, I officially have a weird child, youngest actually enjoyed his English GCSE yesterday :rotfl:We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

So Netanyahu rules Benjamin out, but Cameron doesn't rule David out? I'm sure your OH must know other people called Ben.
I suppose that means Nigel is out too?I can see with a surname beginning O any first names starting with B are also best avoided!
So Ben is out!
Offer a compromise on a middle name?
How about Raphael? I've seen quite a few kids called that, often shortened to Rafi.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Fir is coming home tonight. His office are for some reason being great about flexibility. DH sat at spoke with a partner a couple of weeks ago about this years tests and the potential surgery if they are 'useful' and the partner was just 'you do what you gotta do' and agreed DH should be with me, DH raised that he'd like tomorrow working from home at very short notice because we only knew this week. with those he is currently working with and the one dissenter was shut down by the partner today.
Sea change? Hope so.
Well that sounds promising - I guess it is partly driven by the work/customer he is dealing with at the time and how busy it is?neverdespairgirl wrote: »
OH had a burst of ideas this evening, though - Seth, Aaron, and Elijah.
What do NP think? Honest opinions welcome even if they are, "are you insane?!"
So far Seth is winning for me, mostly becaue I don't care much for Elijah, though it's Ok and Aaron, which I prefer, doesn't sound right to me with the surname.Must be getting closer
I like all of those names, except one.
Will delete: I associate 'Daniel's with trouble... (although I've also met some perfectly pleasant ones too)
Richards are my 'trouble' name. Apologies to any Richards out there!0
