OH did a deal, they take the loans and how much we pay off depends on how well they do. so 1st gets 100% paid off, 2.1- 75%, 2.2- 50%, 3 - 25%, anything else gets nothing.
So in theory we should have paid 75% off of DS1's loan. But I said there was no point until he had at least started working properly (the loans are structured so if you never earn decent money, you never pay anything). Now he has started working, I am saying wouldn't he rather have the money as a deposit on his first home. But he has no intention of buying at the moment so disagrees.
This adds the moral dilemma, DS2's loan will be greater because tuition fees are now £9k a year not £3k. Offering the same financial incentive to work hard seems fine, but offering that the money can be used as a first home deposit creates an inequality.
Luck of the draw.
The Girl got a lot less when she was little because we were a lot poorer when she was young than when The Boy was. That's not her fault but what can you do? Life's not fair.
Put a nondisclosure agreement in when you give her the money and nothing can possibly go wrong.

That is your specialness, PN. Feeling secure in your own comfort zone and wanting to protect that existence. For others the possibility of living in two countries is exciting and viewed positively. Always planes, trains and automobiles to travel.
I'd go further. I don't know whether is because I don't feel wholly Brit ( though do actively choose this part of me and this place) that I am with another Anglophilic and Europhilic 'citizen of the world' who has broad cultural identity actively works for me/ us.0 -

Thanks for fixing! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

It's OK. It's only lemonjelly that we tease about PMing Nikkster.

Hugs michaels. :grouphug:
Things have been getting you down about work and life and distribution of money in your family and so on for a while now. Is there anything we can do to help? Have you told DW how miserable you are feeling?
I don't presume to know how things are in your marriage, but I have known of plenty of situations where the man thought "I must continue to do this even though it makes me wretched because she expects me to and will be cross/sad if I don't" and the woman had no idea that he felt that way, and was horrified when she eventually found out, and would never have wanted him to carry on with whatever it was if she had known. Please don't let that kind of misunderstanding happen to you. If your situation is in fact not like that at all, then please ignore this whole paragraph.

I am so angry about this. Not sure what to say, but very angry. And sad.

Thanks for your thoughts Lydia. However paragraph duly ignored as requested
I agree with you re Sue's experience. It almost feels like it is time to sue the school. We had to use the safeguarding word with DS teacher due to a troubled child who was attacking him regularly as well as other kids. DS is no longer being troubled but other kids still are.
In other news we have our first paying guest student coming today.I think....0 -
're Sue taking legal action ... I agree with you Michaels. They seem to constantly drop the ball and it is not good enough.
However in short term I respect the fact that sue has to focus all her energies and attention on getting youngest through exams. It's going to be a tough few weeks sue and I really do wish you all the best. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Our yard is very solid. The pneumatic drill doesn't want to go through it. The nice guy doing it is a doll. He has four horses standing three metres away watching him like hawks and the geese came through and were peering at him sideways.0
