So yesterday non res p was assaulted.
Not 'badly' but will not go to police. Won't go to police because earlier in the day in a separate incident someone reversed in to the parked parental vehicle and pushed it into another car. There was uproar, and in the chaos and in panic parent phoned police who said ' none of our business' they are right of course, but it was only fifty yards from the police station, someone could have popped out to an old person sounding stressed.0 -

This is where it gets tricky - you want to force them to do the right thing, but they dig their heels in - and then you've only a limited range of options on how hard you can insist...... and how long you can keep insisting until you've out-insisted them and you make the call.
Where my parents were living, even though there was a police station, and a big one - where they took/held prisoners (round the back)... the front office was mostly unmanned.
What sort of assault? Shoved/pushed and menaced? Or punched/fell/now bruised?0 -

I assume that you did not get the album with a track titled...." The Penis Song" ??
P.S. That doesn't even warrant an  ...............'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

The police station is manned.
Anywas, my p's are adults and independent and I'm not planning on any forcing, just lots of concern really.0 -

Not likely to help him to do well in his exams. Quality sleep, healthy food, relaxation (in moderation) are all important too.Yes, today is the anniversary of my birth. No one here missed or forgot as no-one here should particularly remember/ be awareNever very much of a cause for celebration, but waking up to a text wishing me a good day 'despite everything' set me off with completely the wrong tone for the day. I'm not even particularly bothered about being another day older than yesterday, or about the things I have to sort out (well, perhaps the one that requires thinking and writing). But I woke up feeling sorry for myself and very empty and alone.
Definitely. I work with some lovely people too.
Happy Birthday for yesterday Nikkster. Glad you were feeling better by later in the day.I'm with you on that.
I've got another specialist appointment tomorrow, this time to see if I have tonsils cancer too. Every one is an opportunity for introspection. It gets boring after a while.
Thoughts and hugs and prayers for that, Gen. :grouphug:Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

.Nope you can't make them, all you can do is encourage. Were they hurt?

I'd not know what to do with myself all day ..... there's only so much walking round, staring out to sea, one can do.
There's quite a lot to visit in Jersey. Mr Bugs and I used to go for long weekends; could never take much time off and getting on a plane at least made it feel a bit furrin!;) I hit the big 50 this year, hence the break, and I'm about 90% sure that is where I will spread Mr Bugs' ashes.
My mother who died in '93, is still in the sideboard because I have absolutely no idea where to put her:o.0 -
Gosh this is embarrassing
but Nikkster I've tried to PM you but your inbox is full
It's OK. It's only lemonjelly that we tease about PMing Nikkster.Niks I envy you your single life so much right now.
Hugs michaels. :grouphug:
Things have been getting you down about work and life and distribution of money in your family and so on for a while now. Is there anything we can do to help? Have you told DW how miserable you are feeling?
I don't presume to know how things are in your marriage, but I have known of plenty of situations where the man thought "I must continue to do this even though it makes me wretched because she expects me to and will be cross/sad if I don't" and the woman had no idea that he felt that way, and was horrified when she eventually found out, and would never have wanted him to carry on with whatever it was if she had known. Please don't let that kind of misunderstanding happen to you. If your situation is in fact not like that at all, then please ignore this whole paragraph.Happy Birthday Nikks (belated though sorry)
Not happy with the school, can't arrange a pee up in a brewery and now to try to sort out their blooming mess with youngest's GCSEs with less than 24 hours to do it in.
Months been trying to get something sorted but they leave it until less than 2 days before the things start and expect a very routine bound, needs loads of prep of changes autistic child to be able to just go with the flow!
No time to prep him, no time to talk him around and calm him and it will probably turn out with me running between old and new builds for the next month and a very unsettled youngest trying to do well in his GCSEs.
Arrrggghhhhhhhh and grrrrrr!
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
I am so angry about this. Not sure what to say, but very angry. And sad.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I'll be visiting 'family' who I've never met, including one whose house I am not allowed to visit ... and one who rarely leaves their house. Cousin is agrophobic (when it suits for dramatic reasons) and she's told me (although she's a well-known drama queen and liar) that her brother would just refuse to meet me as he doesn't meet people. All bizarre. I'll be staying with a control freak aunty whose version of events/conversations/everything is created in her own head and therefore, by her thinking it, becomes reality.
Really ...... looking forward to it .... not.0 -
