When I used to work in an off-licence in Sheffield I was invited by some customers to a Eurovision party. Quite nice of them I thought.

Happy birthday Nikkster :) I've been exactly the same about birthdays the last few years. Hope you had a good day anyway!

The only thing I'm miffed about birthday wise is that my brother didn't bother sending me a card (not even an e-card). Other than that it was fine. This morning wasn't great (understatement, been a long time since I've felt so uncontrollably sad), but I came round this afternoon not least due to some of my Co-workers. Mope over, on with everyday life :)

    Glad you're feeling better :)

    Happy birthday Nikkster.

Thanks Gen, and everyone. Hopefully I'll deal with the next occasion for annual introspection slightly better :)

    I'm with you on that.

I've got another specialist appointment tomorrow, this time to see if I have tonsils cancer too. Every one is an opportunity for introspection. It gets boring after a while.

Good luck with the appointment Gen.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Cheers Masomnia. It'll be 7am Thursday your time, 4pm Thursday mine.

I came across this very strange thing in one of the darker recesses of the Interwebs:

    http://www.breatheheavy.com/exhale/index.php?/topic/605927-avril-lavigne-fans-are-not-allowed-to-touch-her/

    SFW I think.

What's really odd here (to me) is that you can pay a few hundred bucks and get to have your photo taken with you heroine. And then she thinks so little of you that any form of contact is verboten.

    Very, very odd.
