Oh Sue. Sorry to hear all of that. Guess its better to need to go a wheelchair than not to need one and have no desire to go to a gig? That's my thought on it (having no experience of what you're going through, so hope that comes across ok) anyway... I'd hate to never enjoy music again.

Docklands, in London? Do they still call it that?

Yes. What else would they call it? Although given it's a while since any docks actually functioned, you have a point....

My Granny used to canvass for the Conservatives where she lived - one of the safest Tory seats in the entire country, Chipstead & Reigate. My Dad used to tease her by saying she'd upped the majority from 26,500 to 27,000.....

I'm not a fan of Docklands. There simply isn't enough room for the people that work there, especially at lunchtime.

The place is heaving and the queues are terrible.

I thought it all had place names now, rather than a collective name like in the 80s before it was all redeveloped. Hadn't heard the term in years!

I remember decades ago seeing a science fiction programme set in the Isle of Dogs.

Later on, my mate who taught geography told me it was renamed as Docklands, an Enterprise Zone- an area selected for rejuvenation where some planning regs were suspended. It's why they could build Canary Wharf so high. Which we could see from our last house (slightly further out from our current one) and almost at the Greater London boundary.

Chipstead's great. If only they made their roads wider or cars narrower you could drive through it and keep your wing mirrors.

At night ,the locals carry torches or wear hi-vis vests and it always reminds me of those places on the offshore islands where everybody carries a stick in the air so the predatory birds will attack the sticks and not your more precious heads

This seems to be a safe Tory area, too.

I very much doubt that will change, but we will see.

I won't be voting UKIP, or Tory for that matter......

    Couldn't resist a bit of origami :)

Edit: I also fished an envelope out of the recycling. Didn't want to waste a new one!

Nikk, if they were at least honest, I'd be little happier with them

The only marginal seat I've ever lived in is my current one and I don't get the vote!

Last photo.......(Zoomed out as I don't want anyone seeing my address)

This is saying ETA 18:37 (Copenhagen time), so see you tonight!

Trying to get to Calais in just less 1/4 tank of fuel, as by rough calculation I'll save about £20 filling it up.

Sue, so sorry your night out with James did not go according to plan. It is horrible feeling ill and being so far from home. Glad you are ok now.

Out of interest, did you apply for a blue badge? They are in my mind at the moment as I've just sent mum's application in. The form seemed very long, but not too bad when broken down to one question at a time.
