There was a UKIP (that should be 'an UKIP' shouldn't it? doesn't sound right though) leaflet waiting for me when I got home tonight. That should make 'interesting' reading...This seemed to be (more or less) the address that was on t'interweb.
Couldn't resist a bit of origami

Edit: I also fished an envelope out of the recycling. Didn't want to waste a new one!
If their somwhat garish website ever presents problems, Twitter has the answer.

We are also Lib Dem/Tory fluctuating. When we get doorstep canvassers I enthusiastically confirm to whoever is at the door that I voted for them last time and intend to do so again.
Minimises discussion and upsets no one.
Only wish I could be so polite to the cold callers who ring and blight my days off.
We're in a safe seat. Invariably the incumbents canvas us first, we agree enthusaistically with them and grab a sticker which goes in the window. Game over; nobody bothers us after that.

Maybe they mostly canvas nice/posh areas .... while I've had some leaflets over the years I've never had my door knocked, no matter where I've lived!0

Been busy/ill/exhausted/busy again last few days.
Birthday was a bit of a damp squib, all plans cancelled for the day etc. Things had improved a little on the Friday and me and James went off to the O2 to see McBusted...I didn't take the wheelchair.
Big mistake!
Stratford station did for me I think, too much moving about required and my energy was already severely depleted by the time I arrived at North Greenwich and the O2. The walk from the station to the actual doors of the O2 was not too bad, nice seats to sit on to break up the walk, lots of picture opportunities but then the walking continued inside...lots of it, although the staff were very good and directed us to the lifts.
Then unfortunately, the sickness that had hit the boys on Wednesday night hit me....just a few minutes before McBusted came on stage. Up until that point, I had been fine apart from the effects of the walking, then suddenly, I wasn't. To say it ruined the gig is rather an understatement.
Walking back to the station after the gig was horrendous, my energy reserves had completely gone, my joints were in agony and I was horrendously dehydrated, I could barely keep my eyes open and myself standing upright...but at least Stratford station was a little easier this time around with not so much peeing about and things had settled down on the bug front.
I slept most of the way home, most unusual for me as I absolutely detest sleeping on public transport (huge fear of letting out a big snore or dribbling in my sleep), somehow managed to drive my car home from the local station and just collapsed into bed, fully dressed, drink on my bedside table and light on and fell asleep.
Saturday was spent much the same way, I couldn't stop sleeping, the fatigue was overwhelming and my body wouldn't move...unfortunately, the boys were back to full beans and wanted to be out and about, youngest especially was the least understanding as he had Geek hut to go to, so I had to drag myself up and out to get him there and get some essentials.
Yesterday was spent taking James back to uni, so no rest there either but at least I had something to eat, something I had not done for over 2 days, only something small but better than nothing.
Today was back to school day, usual stresses that comes with that and then to tackle youngest's PIP form....they've improved it! It wasn't as bad as it used to be but it was still a whole day of writing and getting all the letters/reports etc packaged up.
Reserves are still low and I think I finally have to accept that further trips to gigs etc will have to be taken with the wheelchair....grrrrWe made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I think that was the aim of the UKIP centrefold... That was the bit that said No more leaflets' (because WE'RE VOTING UKIP in even bigger letters). No thanks. I'm not willing to advertise allegiance to anyone. Not even the Raving Nikkster Party ( well, I might be persuadable on that one).0 -

We'll see
I think you might be a bit late to think about it for next year - and AIUI from OH's experience, the ballot is quite unlikely to yield a spot anyway, it's much easier to do it as a charity runner organised via a charity that has places.
(Ooops, just seen Doozer said the same thing).lostinrates wrote: »Unlike your oh I actually think cleaning is , or can be, something good. My mother's cleaner's not through an agency, so it's all in her own pocket. She's the sister of the two builders who did the house, oasthouse and are now sorting the cowshed AKA my Dad's study. Their aunts were the last people to live there before my parents bought it from the executors (the brothers). Their family lived there from the 1860s until the last aunt died in her 90s about a decade ago.
I agree with you about cleaners. For OH, I think it's more about privacy, but he's completely set on it. I reckon we're all allowed a certain number of idiosyncrasies, though. Wouldn't mind if he picked a different one, though (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
