Took the dog for his necessary constitutional tonight. The park was full of mist and beautiful to look at. :j

Tell me what its like will you?
A friend of dh's gave him the books, DH doesn't think he'll have time to read them and to our shame, he's asked me to read them, give a synopsis. I feel a bit.....disinclined both cause it feels grudging and sort of wrong. ( DH is a slow reader and tight on time, I have to remember this in not judging him harshly).
I know the show is really popular....but series are so awkward compared to films, Remembering when they are on and stuff. I have never ever watched a box set of a series, but maybe we should consider it for this?0 -

Right- my mate who is pushing it says:
the books start well but turn out not to be a patch on LOTR.
the TV version is surprisingly very much better than the books and utterly brilliant.
He's more of a book aficianado than a TV watcher, and I trust his judgement on reading matter so I'm going to give the books the body-swerve.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Cheers vivaYou're welcome round for a tour any time.
There is certainly plenty enough to do. Hopefully one day it will feel like it's 'finished'. I'm not planning on moving anywhere else at the moment, so the house will be (slowly) done up for me (as opposed to for selling). We shall have to wait and see whether it ends up being stunning or looking more like a multi-coloured bird-themed car boot sale against a backdrop of bad attempts at DIY :rotfl:0 -
I quite like Game of Thrones for TV, not read the book.
Reading the book would take so long, and unless it's something I can really enjoy the actual writing of (ie. the quality of the prose) I generally don't bother reading the books of things.
But yes a fair amount of nudity and violence (though not as much as Spartacus) not a bad thing I don't think, and it's a good story that keeps you guessing with plenty of action. I like it!“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0
