Most of it is pretty relaxing and therapeutic though.:)
When there is nothing demanding my attention I am usually to be found sitting or lying down rather than pottering. One day my mental health will return to normal ... I hope.
And I like to think of you and Nikkster and lir and others all growing stuff. For me, having watered the two calamondins sufficiently to keep them alive for 20 and 32 months is an achievement.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

And therefore the bigger bills - I started work on the case in 2010, with a few prep hearings. I did about 3 months in total on it in 2012, which I've just got paid in full for. And I had to pay tax on it in January, which totally takes the p!ss, paying the govt tax on money they've not paid me!
I guess you must do cash accounting?0 -
Of course. We'll be quite happy to encourage you. As long as you don't post every single day about the few pence you've just overpaid to your mortgage - for that you need the MFW board.
If everything goes according to plan, I could pay off 40% of the mortgage in the first year.
I was doing some maths a few minutes ago. I'm hoping that my mortgage will be £10k less than the AIP.It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Some people might say I have a full set of mugs... I live alone, therefore a full set might be "1".
I bought two mugs in 2007, but one broke. So then I had one. When I moved here I still had that one. When I went to work I bought two mugs (from a charity shop) so I had one to take to work (and another at home would come in handy). And the other month I went mad and bought another mug. So now I have four:
1 white that says "chocolate" in various fonts; two matching, but one's blue and one's burgundy; one sage/lime green.
I use mugs for drinking from ... but also for mixing up instant curry sauce and instant gravy; for mixing up egg mayonnaise/salad cream; for making microwave sauces.0 -

Sounds exciting.
I'm hoping I just might be able to pay off my pseudo-mortgage next month. Depends how the "settling out of court" thing goes.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I threw away my my two dead houseplants last weekend. They were definitely beyond revival.
I have no idea how long my newfound enthusiasm for gardening will last. I'm pretty sure I'll be more skilled at chopping/ digging up things than cultivating them
And as I said, I'm pretty sure at least part of this is a diversion tactic. I wouldn't say that my mental health was entirely normal (probably never has been/ will be).
Edit: the houseplants that went in the green bin had been in my ownership 10 and 6 months. So I think you're doing rather well, Lydia0 -
Ah ha - that MI6 experience must come in handy
Is Breaking Bad as good as it's made out to be? Is it a sufficient tool for bribery?
After all the hype, it took me a couple of episodes to get into it.
By the second series I was hooked. I watched 4 episodes, one after the other on Saturday0 -

I have an impressive array of mugs. I had a few before I moved in here (matching pairs at most - either gifted or bought when I went to Uni many moons ago). I also acquired a collection here. I wouldn't say I had a 'set' though!0 -
The trouble in my house is that one of us hates throwing things out and the other is pretty ruthless...
There were mugs everywhere at one point. Most had to go :A0 -
