Bothered me too - if you had time to do online banking before 7.30AM you could have had at least 5 more minutes sleeping...

I woke up fairly early (aka on time) - was at work today, had been in a slightly different time zone the past couple of days, was very much looking forward to pay day...

If it helps, I only got out of bed at 7.45 am :)

    Well done Nikki. :T
  • Pay day - one of those "get money in regularly, on schedule, predicted amount" jobbies. Not something I ever experience, myself.

OTOH, I did get paid yesterday for the first legal aid trial I did in my college case, which took place in May - June 2012. I have great hopes that I will, eventually, get paid for the Jan to mar 2013 trial in full, too. I've had part of it so far.

Sounds dreadful if most of your payments are like that. Not so bad if it's just the very odd one.

A lot of mines can be 3 months form end of month, which is bad enough. I feel your pain :)

Nice to see you sss! :hello: How are you?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

I have just received some emails confirming a hotel booking that I didn't make. A few phone calls later and I have ascertained that although the name and email address are mine, the postal address, credit card number and phone number are not. Am hoping this is somebody with the same name as me and a similar email address who's just typed it incorrectly.

ETA Have just checked. The person's area code indicates that she lives in Aberdeenshire. Hamish - what are you up to????

Very busy work wise and the Scottish independence thread (boo/ hiss) has been getting most of my time on MSE.

I've also been watching Breaking Bad on my TV through Chromecast and listening to the likes of the excellent Madilyn Bailey< on Youtube.

I'm good thanks. Also meant to say that I go to a gym three times a week so it does impact on the things I was doing before I re-joined.

The NY resolution of 2013 (eat well, keep fit) is still holding up well :)

    How are you all?

I found it stressful enough being on fixed-term contracts (as is usual in science/ academia), even though I'd more likely than not have a savings buffer (I heart saving), I think it would stress me out a lot not to have a regular income. I am a creature of habit, I like my monthly money rituals.

It's just occurred to me that I think I have an idea what most NP do for a living, but I have no idea what you do (that isn't me asking btw, just commenting).

I've never seen Breaking Bad, I'd really like to get the boxset, but I''m not allowing myself as I should be doing other things with my time. Perhaps it will be my self-bribing tool for this round of writing...
