    Thanks, PasturesNew, for your help.

I think that if I were going to post in MFW or a financial part of the site I'd want to use another identity, a scratch one just for that purpose.

    That has crossed my mind.

But I think my main problem is that I need to chill out a bit with the mortgage and enjoy living as well. Whilst I lack discipline in many aspects of my life, I'm generally very good at saving.

I'm allowing myself to overpay with 'extra' money - e.g. work bonus, the cash I found lying around the house, money saved by using vouchers, cashback, reclaimed expenses. What (little) surplus there is from day to day living goes towards rainy day and doing-the-house (incl. acquisition of tat) savings.

But of course their is no 'personal use' defence for imports from non-eu countries...
    I think....

Yes - so sunshine should expect a sense of humour failure by HMRC
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

    I would like a sit-up bicycle. .
My Raleigh bike is a sit up. I wanted a sit up bike .... and it's aluminium frame.

Seriously - I am the world's unfittest person - and when I got that bike I was out and at the beach and simply picked it up to carry it up the 100 steps to the top of the cliff... it's aluminium I think! Fabulously lightweight bike :)

You're in your first house, in a good job, with prospects. I'd not worry too much about it ... it's important, but it's not like you're 50 with a gammy leg, about to be laid off, married to a gambler and mortgaged for £120k

Let's not forget the Seaside Project. That must be close to being done, or used, or something.... maybe she's not here because she's got her feet up with some jellied eels or something.

Just typing the words "jellied eels" grossed me out ... never seen one, no wish to ever try one!

Well, my mortgage is bigger than that!

18 months on, I'm just about coming to terms with the fact I'm unlikely to find out that they've just realised they made an error during the process of employing me. Just about.

I get myself over being aware that there is always a threat of redundancy/ getting so fed up at work that I have an overwhelming urge to quit/ messing up and getting sacked by reminding myself that I can always sell the house (unlikely that negative equity will ever be a problem).

I'm very definitely a plan for the worst, whilst secretly hoping for the best, kind of a gal.
