Anywhere near to any NP? (Would guess not, figured it was worth asking)

Don't think so. Too far north. But thanks for asking.

Have you got anyone sympathetic who can drive you there / take care of you IRL? Because it'll probably be very tough.

Hope you get through it okay.

Well, my brother says he'll come with me for one of the days, and I think my SIL will come for one too. They'll be too busy to do more than that though. My dad would, except that he'll be fully occupied looking after my kids, so he can't. They have support officers there to look after you, though. I'll be OK.

It's not as though I'm still in pieces - by the time it happens it'll be over 9 years since he left me and nearly five since he died. If he was still alive, nobody would expect me to be still in bits over somebody who left me that long ago.

TBH I'm more worried about being isolated and bored being alone in a travelodge or similar from 4:30pm to 10am every night for three weeks, especially because I will have a lot of information to process and will want somebody to talk to about it.

I know this isn't the place for a MFW diary, but I'm looking forward to my mortgage balance being updated. I'd guess that this should take over a year off (although I think my head is going to win and I'm going to ask for my overpayments to be used to lower the monthly payments so I'll be better prepared for any disasters/ rate rises after the fix ends).

I am reminded how fortunate I am that I'm in a position to choose to do this. Today has lived up to my anticipation :)

All sounds very sensible. Well done you.

(Oh, and the MFW lot are v friendly if you fancy some more frequent encouragement. :))

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Never seen a post like this one - I found it as I was randomly scanning "new posts".

Fag smuggler caught..... seems to run like a usual post until he posts the letters he received :)

How much space does 50 cartons of ciggies take up - would they fit in a suitcase?

A Scottish knitwear brand - and a business guru - attending a speed networking event in London to pitch his clothing brand to Chinese importers. They were the major distribution channels fr China.

They said that China is a risky market and you need the right partner - and in Chinese they like "Made in UK" clothes - and they love to know the "story of the brand".

I wonder if fc's looked at exporting, or if it's all one step/risk too many.

People don't often smuggle ciggies. They smuggle tobacco, and then make up the Ciggies in britain. Reason is that the Ciggies take up far more space than loose tobacco.

If he was smuggling Ciggies he was strictly a small time operator.

Thread doesn't make much sense to me; 50 cartons wouldn't fit in a suitcase...

Just wanted to say I hope you don't all think I'm a totally heartless cow. [Rest of post deleted]

I think she has mentioned customers in the middle east before but also that she likes to keep control over her distribution in terms of which third parties sell it and how.

I'm porky. The max weight on that thing is 90kg, and I am nowhere near 90kg. All the other trainers I've looked at are either not suitable for the laterally challenged, or very expensive.
Ah. That will be because you get some spindles to hold the rear wheel off the ground. So you'd need a ground based rolling road, like in a car garage when they test car brakes for MoT.

Maybe Heath Robinson's the way to go....

There are some armchair based cycle things - just a set of pedals. My dad said he wanted one of those, I had an Argos £5 voucher I gave to him and sent him off to buy one .... this was about 2 months before he was diagnosed terminal, so he didn't actually ever use it .... and it went out, almost unused, in the house clearance.

I just tried to find a set and found something "posher" which they describe as: Drive Medical Pedal Exerciser with Digital Display so Google that, and explore options, alternatives. £30 or so on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Drive-Medical-Pedal-Exerciser-Mini-Pedal-Bike-with-Digital-Display-/121115574331

Not heartless at all - not even a hint as far as I'm concerned (maybe that also makes me heartless though!). Even if he hadn't been a 'N'-ex, I would hate to think of you still being in complete turmoil due to the accident. It is terrible that he is no longer here, but you still are, and so are your children.

On a ridiculous stag do in Tenerife. We got here at 3pm yesterday. By midnight one of our number was in hospital with a broken heel. He got to fly home today. I am hoping to break my heel later tonight.
