A salt dish. (you mean a salt cellar?)
A decanter. (it's called a bottle.... I mean why, pour it out of one thing, into another thing, so you can pour it? !!!!!!?)
A wine thermometer.
A golf club rack. (why take them out the bag for goodness sakes?)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Forums do have a tendency to ban entire blocks of IP addresses indiscriminately. Basically, because it's the only way they can stop someone whose been a trouble maker getting back onto the site. It doesn't work for more than about two seconds, though.
Try turning your router on and off. That often helps me, when I've been banned somewhere:D
The fact that your user name hasn't been banned means you are not the target.
Anyway... how I spent my day: Locked myself out of the house so did some gardening.:D
Cycling isn't pain for me at the moment, Cycling is stopping at random intervals because I've forgotten to breath. Working on getting to my first mile still. Going slow because I'm trying not to kill myself. Also wondering how you can get the mileage up without going on the road because I think I'd probably be a bit of a hazard to traffic right at the moment. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I've been looking forward to today for months.
Today is a special payday - the first one where I have not just received my normal pay.
I had spent every penny of my extra money before 7:30 am
I know this isn't the place for a MFW diary, but I'm looking forward to my mortgage balance being updated. I'd guess that this should take over a year off (although I think my head is going to win and I'm going to ask for my overpayments to be used to lower the monthly payments so I'll be better prepared for any disasters/ rate rises after the fix ends).
I am reminded how fortunate I am that I'm in a position to choose to do this. Today has lived up to my anticipationIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Sounds dreadful if most of your payments are like that. Not so bad if it's just the very odd one.
A lot of mines can be 3 months form end of month, which is bad enough. I feel your pain
It tends to be the government, oddly enough
And therefore the bigger bills - I started work on the case in 2010, with a few prep hearings. I did about 3 months in total on it in 2012, which I've just got paid in full for. And I had to pay tax on it in January, which totally takes the p!ss, paying the govt tax on money they've not paid me!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I haven't had a re-calculation yet, which is when I think the monthly payment would go down. Assuming my financial situation doesn't get worse, I'd keep the regular monthly payments the same (currently minimum payment rounded up to the next £100), safe in the knowledge that I would have wriggle room to decrease back to the minimum if needed.0 -

Is that a choice - paying tax on earnings in the year that you earnt them rather than were paid them? (I've always been PAYE)0 -
DDs were both offered a 50% scholarship to the drama school - still too expensive
But we have mananged to negotiate a 75% discount which makes it OK
Also thinking of FC, GDB MsK and the other missing 'regulars'.
Ditto for the mssing NP's.Thanks, PasturesNew, for your help.
I think that if I were going to post in MFW or a financial part of the site I'd want to use another identity, a scratch one just for that purpose. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Thank you
It's just occurred to me that I think I have an idea what most NP do for a living, but I have no idea what you do (that isn't me asking btw, just commenting).
I've never seen Breaking Bad, I'd really like to get the boxset, but I''m not allowing myself as I should be doing other things with my time. Perhaps it will be my self-bribing tool for this round of writing...
I'm a director of my own security installation company (18 years).
I had never watched any Breaking Bad before I got the Chromecast. I'm using it more than I thought I would and it was only £30 (can be had for £25 on times)0 -

It's alright. I'll still be chipping away long after those of you who are buying now (you, PN and Chewy) are long since paid up. Which means I'll probably still be posting here about it. Everyone will probably be skipping even more of my nonsense posts by then0 -
I am still nowhere near having enough "get up and go" to do any gardening, but am happy to report that one of the calamondins in my conservatory is flowering ATM. The scent is delightful.
I don't find a need for get up and go. It starts with pottering about, doing little tiny things. Next thing I know I've decided to dig up half the garden!:o
Most of it is pretty relaxing and therapeutic though.:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
