I'm so happy for you.
What are you doing with your two weeks?
Yeah, I'm just slowly getting better really. Each day is a bit better than the previous one. I've got a little bit of pain this evening but not enough to make me want to take something for it. Not bad really seeing as it was less than 3 weeks ago.
TBH I think that it's probably the emotional turmoil as much as the actual illness and op that has done me in. I got a few hours off the kids this weekend as Grandma took both the kids to netball so I just lolled on the sofa. Oh yeah, and planned bread making.
I've got tickets to take the Generalissimos to the Royal Easter Show:

It's like an English county show but on steroids. We got cheap(er) tickets through work.
We've been invited up to stay with a mate in Spencer for a day. That's a lovely spot, just North of Sydney. There's a lovely village shop there which sells cold beer so we can go out kayaking and then stop for a cold beer by the river:
I promised the kids a night in a hotel so we'll do that and we might go camping too for a night. I bloody hate camping but the kids love it so I should take them really.PasturesNew wrote: »Making sausages, pastry and sausage rolls.
Not too far from the truth. If I can find a cheap metal box, I might make a cold smoker and make bacon actually. I have the curing salt so all I need to add is a little sugar and maybe some thyme or maple or something.
Home made bacon sandwiches with home made bread. Yum!
If I can't find the bits to make a smoker, I might have a go at sausage production. I've got a meat mincer with a sausage attachment and a butcher up the road sells natural skins.0 -
Well done ndb. Hope he's happy with his time.
He wasn't that bothered about the time - what he wanted to do was finish it. He was wary of running fast for 13 miles, struggling for another few, then having to give up as he'd overdone it.
He had to give a time estimate months and months ago, to put him in his starting zone, and he had no real idea then of what he might be able to do, so he put 5 1/2 hours. That meant that he was slower over the first half than he would have been, as the number of other runners set the pace to some extent. The second half, he was steadily overtaking people, which he said was very encouraging.
Had he put a much faster estimate, he thought he might be overtaken by a series of teletubbies or post-boxes, which would have been depressing.
He certainly wasn't exhausted afterwards - obviously, he was very tired, and his legs and feet ached, but no injuries and he wasn't completely wrung out.
He's been running half-marathons in training in 92 minutes, so now he wants to run one of those timed, to see how he does....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Just as well..
Lab said they won't process the test without the paperwork. Surgery say they have never seen paperwork with these tests in the history of doing these tests.
I wrote on the bottle with a marker that I sort of did it ( after the nurse said surely it didn't matters I'd done it incorrectly, I should just keep quiet and see what results were) and am hoping I have done the best of a mixed up situation.
Nurse refused to take bp because GP hadn't requested it.3 more days to get through and I'm off for a fortnight, nearly.
Really need it. Haven't had a day off since christmas. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Well done NDB. Can I ask how much he raised for his good cause NDG?
Searches came back over the weekend. All clear.
Survey happening this week. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Great news, lemon! Hope all the surveys and searches are very dull indeed, and give you nothing to worry about for a moment.
He raised about £1,100 online, and another £1,200 ish off line (so 20th century, sweetie!) plus a £500 bonus from his Chambers if he finished, which of course he did.
He was really touched by the number of people who did sponsor him, and very grateful (including a number of NP, thank you very much indeed)....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

After today, 3 days for me for a week off. Actually, allowing for weekends it'll be 11 days off.
Really need it. Haven't had a day off since christmas.
