Sorry, no intention on my part to create such alarm. Should have been less coy.
I had imagined a different scenario less dramatic. And so the less coy version worried me less than what actually has happened.
I am not a big Internet hugger but sometimes the situation demands it. Big hugs.0 -
Own up, who looked at the contents list inside?!
Good heavens no. I see enough books at work to not want to be traumatised by the subject matter when I get home. And with regard to that subject matter, why would you do it? I'm all for MSE and that, but with regard to certain things... car brakes, eyeglasses and not least the matter, ahem, in hand, I'd rather see a CE mark, or kitemark, or know it had a very efficient German DIN standard. For none of us would want to be the person trying to explain to A&E that we are there as a result of a "self-inflicted home made sex toy malfunction". You'd be the stuff of dinner party chatter for the rest of your lives.
And for that reason among 100 or so others... in the words of Dragon's Den, I'm out. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I know you are such a strong, positive and vibrant voice for the best of the NHS and I value the balance you provide in that respect. I resent this experience for denting that confidence you have.
. Already have heebeejeebiees about my appt on Friday)
I know the NHS gets it wrong, it is important it owns up to what is not good, improves and is accountable. Patients and relatives can be vile, and the best staff can make mistakes.
Pretty sure I came across as an assertive patient yesterday, not demanding but knowledgeable. The Junior Doc at the first clinic looked embarrassed by the events, the senior doc (who I do not think was a consultant) kept saying "I hear you" in a way that clearly meant she had not, as there was discord between her espoused and enacted behaviour.
My poor experience yesterday has shaken me, however it is not what I usually get, so am hopeful for future appointments and for yours on Friday.

More common than you think, I believe.0 -

I rather like bugslet's idea ( theoretically) Not least because so much on etsy is not what etsy should be about in my mind. Hand made dildos could be quite a hoot.
Tag lines could be funny too.0 -

Very probably... but I won't be that statistic (and for some bizarre reason find myself crossing my legs while typing this). Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Endocrinologist..
Patients are vile often. Incidents of nasty ness in waiting rooms are frequent and often its impossible to safely report because of reception locations. They are vile to staff too which is taken more seriously. Staff are often horrid to patients.
Urge, I just hate the whole thing and were I able to I'd be glad when its over! Lol.0 -
Probably ought to add that I have actually no intention of creating any of the items in the aforementioned book. It was just curiosity at something I couldn't quite believe was real0

A long time ago I shared a house with 3 nurses.
After a shift in A&E one reported seeing a patient who had "fallen and landed on a coke bottle". This had entered his body without breaking but could not be removed without medical help.0 -

I worked with a lot of gastroenterologists. They retrieve all manner of things from where the sun don't shine :eek:0
