Speaking of which. I need an address for the microvable soup thing.. I thought of sending it to work but thought sending it just to your first name wouldn't reach you :rotfl:
Thank you, that is very kind - I include my address in the text I sent, if you still have it - I subsequently posted on here that if you let me have an address I would send money in a plain brown envelope.
As for the NP influence, I probably needed to be a bit more laid back. Just not this much.0 -
Ooh - how interesting!
How many have you got to review? Have you been given guidelines to mark against?
I was unsure whether to bother writing something (I had a couple of ideas), then decided the time it would take (even bearing in mind I probably wouldn't have spent as much time as I should) versus likelihood of getting a pass mark probably didn't look too good, so didn't go for it in the end.
I have five to review. One is very good indeed and will probably get full marks. One is good, one ok, one poor. The other one is odd... it ticks a lot of the boxes but the way they have linked it to the course is very tenuous. It will probably get a higher mark than it should as I'm not quite sure how to grade - it is fitting a square peg into a round hole but they have made it fit to hit the grading. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Ah, I will turn my phone on then
, you bought me the most generous gift already. This is very minor in comparison!
Today I painted my black board wall. The tub says does two coats of a metre and a half. I reckon mine its far off that, I have done three coats and have lots left. Should I keep doing more coats? Or do a nother black board somewhere:D0 -

Mine range from "really, you submitted that?" through to "wow, kudos, wish I could have written that". As much as anything else, it is interesting to see what people consider as problems. Unfortunately one of the ones that will get a lower mark is absolutely hilarious. I wish I could give it an extra couple of points for entertainment value.Ooh - how interesting!

I've just started week 4. I did contemplate doing the written test, but decided against it for time reasons, as per Nikkster really.
Week 4 is reminding me about certain feelings I have in relation to my employer & management:mad:It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Pn told me to get lots of back writing in place before worrying about it, so started that but then the worry of the technical side got bigger and bigger and squashed me like a fly. Well. Not quote squashed. More electrocuted, like a tennis racket fly swot. Attached to the requisite.....
I think it's easy to be intimidated by technology but don't forget that you don't have to deal with everything at once. AND you don't have to learn on a blog that matters to you.
You can learn it in steps, slowly, without trying to tackle the entire behemoth.
For example, you could get a free wordpress blog on wordpress.com and just get comfortable with posting random stuff that doesn't matter.
Once you're okay with that you could go and get a domain from a ISP like hostgator that sets up your wordpress blog for you, all you have to do is send an email to their support team.
Combine the two things and you have a basic blog. You can work out the other details later.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

I am not at the enjoying bike riding / rushing down hill at high speed phase but I am at the wobbling around unexpectedly plunging towards random trees phase of relearning to ride the bicycle.
Also, huffing and puffing may be an apt description of my progress:D
Yesterday I heard neighborhood children laughing at my progress so at least someone is enjoying it.:D“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Tomterm, your attitude just gets sexier and sexier. I would not enjoy being laughed at. DH doesn't mind at all. I think this preeny attitude is often the difference between failures and successes...like you!
I am awed my friend, awed.
I have two girlfriends who constantly bleat about the lack of nice men our age and I always want to yell about you and lemon jelly.0 -

I've altered that slightly for you0 -
lostinrates wrote: »Those of you who do some e writing have you been to any seminars or anything for inspiration/guidance? A friend has suggested one in London in May....
I do a fair bit, and I've not been to any seminars. I'm not convinced that the actual writing is any different from writing anything else sensible, interesting and readable.
Blogging is very low tech, even I can do it. Wordpress is practically idiot / NDG proof. As of yesterday I have redefined "a good day at the office" as one where you keep your knickers on all day and do not show your important little places to any colleagues.:(
Oh dear! Are you OK, Spirit?I don't know... if I ever have any kids, I think what I'd tell them is [STRIKE]the important thing is not to get caught.[/STRIKE] no choice is final. It's a good idea to assume that whatever you're doing today isn't what you're going to be doing in ten years time.
It's good to plan for that, even.
I think that's wise. Sister #2 and I are doing what our higher and professional education trained us for, but sister #1 trained as a primary school teacher, then worked with children in care excluded from mainstream education, and is now a journalist. Bruv did the training to be a barrister, and is now teaching....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Word press is NOT lir proof just looking at it freaks me out.0
