And the thread was a year old before being brought back from the dead by someone posting incorrect information.
From Hayes and Jarvis website:Peace of mind: We are fully ATOL protected so you can be absolutely sure that your money is safe. Hayes and Jarvis is a trading name of Specialist Holidays (Travel) Limited, a member of the TUI Travel PLC group of companies. We are fully bonded in compliance with the Package Travel, Package Holidays, and Package Tours Regulations 1992. The money you pay to us for package holidays is fully protected by means of ATOL (number 1275) and ABTA (membership number V1464), and we are members of IATA. If you book arrangements other than an ATOL protected air package or flight booking, or a package holiday we do not provide financial protection.
I didn't realise they were part of TUI until I rang a number on the Thomson Worldwide website several years ago and it was answered by "Hayes & Jarvis".0 -
On a recent holiday to Spain we arranged our transfers with them as well. I emailed them three days before the return to get the transfer details & got a very quick reply promising to email back the information the day before our return. They never did so I chased them and still haven't had a reply a month later. No response at all.
We eventually sorted it out ourselves but it wasn't easy.
Not surprisingly I don't rate them at all.0 -
Yesterday my mum & I left to go to Corfu for a week long holiday organised entirely using LoveHolidays website 6 weeks ago. They had booked us at a private long stay car park but did not provide any postcode so this took us a long time to find with the sat nav.
We arrived at Thomas Cook check in to be told they couldn't find us on the system. After a few calls by check in staff we were told that the flight had been booked by LoveHolidays but not paid for and so cancelled. We were advised to get in touch with LoveHolidays immediately but the phone desk was not open as this was 10pm at night. We decided it wasn't worth the risk to buy new flight tickets as the same may have happened with the hotel. Today we have been trying to get hold of LoveHolidays only to be put on hold for prolonged periods. My mum & I are fearing the worst and don't expect to get any of the money back.
This whole experience has been one of the worst of our lives when it should have been one of the best. Feel like crying some more...0 -
As posted previously on this thread the value of any purchase support is partly shown when things go wrong.
My experience was associated with the failed low-cost holidays booked as an ATOL covered break with Loveholidays.com. So as many will know it all went wrong when lch failed.
Loveliest.com should have sorted out accommodation payment as per their ATOL certificate or provided an alternative.
In a nutshell they did not.
They were also obliged under the booking terms and conditions to provide support.
They did not, although they did tell me of the failure and said they would sort it all out.
I fought for reimbursement of my costs (eventually got it back in full) and also some compensation for a partially ruined holiday as they did not provide the agreed support. No compensation has been forthcoming.
As an aside it has now become clear to me how convoluted and lacking in transparency holiday bookings can be. I deplore the companies (and regulating authorities) for allowing the online booking organisations to have sloping shoulders hiding behind 'agency' status with even those companies you may think you have booked the parts of your holidays with sometimes being quite remote from the end suppliers. Investigating my recent holidays show chains of companies involved and a decided lack of clarity. This last comment applies equally to probably all online travel agents (and possibly high street shops too?) not just Loveliest.com0 -

What are loveholidays terms for amendments?
What are loveholidays terms for cancellation?
How are fees 'hidden' on the website?0 -
Warning AVIOD loveholidays like the plague.
A cautionary tale.....I picked up this site via trivago and booked for a single night's accommodation by credit card. As soon as I had their confirmation I realised that I had booked a week ahead of the date I required. I rang them and explained my situation and received the following email some 2 days later.
"Thank you for contacting loveholidays with your request to change the dates of your booking from (22 Oct 2018 for 1 nights) to (15 Oct 2018 for 1 nights).
We have looked into this for you and can confirm that the current costs to change your Dates would be as follows -
Original Accommodation Cost: £45.00
New Accommodation Cost: £50.82
!!!8226; Dates: Mon 15 Oct '18
!!!8226; Nights: 1 nights
!!!8226; Board type: Bed & Breakfast
!!!8226; Guests: 1 Adult
!!!8226; Room 1:
!!!8226; 1 Adult
!!!8226; Double or Twin Room
Love Holidays Admin Fee (£75.00 per person):
Total Price Difference: £125.82"
So loveholidays are asking me to pay £125.82 to change dates on a single night stay originally costing £45 which is still shown on their site
(via trivago) at this price for the revised dates........a total rip off and sharp practice on their part.
Does anybody have any suggestions as I am writing this off as a lesson learned and vow to never EVER use them again. ...AVOID...AVOID...AVOIDSave a Lert0 -

Book the room yourself at the £50.82 price and consider the original booking a lost cause?
You made the mistake, I'd hazard a guess that the £75 alteration fee is included in their T&C (most bookings are non-refundable?).0 -
After hearing about the number of Online Booking Agency problems re errors etc I went direct with the Hotel I was looking at in Barcelona, booking direct was cheaper for both the room and breakfast plus it has a flexible cancellation option. You have to do your homework but most agencies get a commission from the hotels normally about 15%, very rarely do you find that going direct to the Hotel is more expensive.0

Love holidays are a bunch of ripoff merchants. Booked with them with their ad stating I had made a 450 pound saving. As a matter of interest, I checked out the cost of booking the hotel direct and even there it was much cheaper. Travel Republics price turned out to be even cheaper.
Even though they would still have made a killing, they refused to budge on their price and informed me that I could cancel at the cost of 75 pounds plus FULL flight cost.
They allow a price match, but within the most ridiculous sets of conditions and only within 24 hours of made booking.
I contacted them and it was obvious by the pre prepared statements the sarcastic and unhelpful agent gave that she was well practised in telling unhappy customers that they are not interested and will not give an inch.
It seems a cooling off period does not apply to booked holidays, and the holiday company can get away with claiming you are making massive savings (the example for mine being £451), even when it is easy to prove that it is actually cheaper booking direct.
Awful company that doesn't care and shuts the door in your face the minute they have your money (and their instalment charges are higher than other companies).
Avoid.
Will always look at direct prices first now, but Love Holidays really are the pits.0
