Anyone used Loveholidays.com

Not as popular as Travel Republic / OTB / Expedia etc., etc., so unsure whether to use them or not?
I'm hopeless with technology, in addition, I suffer with MH issues, what may appear simple, I struggle with, may I ask, please be patient, thank you

    I've been Money Tipped!
They were recommended to me by friends who have used them and had a good experience. I've just booked my next holiday through them following their recommendation.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!
  • They're a trading name of Hays Travel, who also run sunshine.co.uk. Hays is a very large and reliable company.

Oh  well, we've used Sunshine.co.uk numerous times without any issues.

  • Hi, I appreciate that this may be a bit late, but I am currently in dispute with Loveholidays.com and it's not going very well! The initial booking was fine and I couldn't really fault the process, but we paid for a type of accomodation that we never received and have been disputing it since we returned on October 4th.

They (Loveholidays) have now even gone as far as saying that their own website was "misleading" in terms of what we booked and subsequently received, but are still refusing to offer us any of our money back! They say a good measure of good customer services is how a company deal with a complaint/dispute. Based upon this one, I'll never use them again!

We booked with them for a holiday to Egypt in April this year. They 'dynamically' package the holiday so each holiday component is added separately. Our flights turned out to be with Olympic Holidays on a Thomas Cook flight, transfers via ResortHoppa and a nice 5 star All-Inclusive hotel in Sharm for a week. No problems with them at all and at a price less than the major Operators.
  • They don't have a great reputation. They aren't members of the Hays Independence Travel Group any longer, (neither are Sunshine.co.uk), and trade using their own Atol and are members of Abta. They do sell packages from other companies so act like any agent, but they mainly sell flight plus whereby you end up with separate contracts. If one element fails then the others still stand, so if you've no flight for any reason (eg Sharm el Sheikh) you're still liable for your accommodation and anything else you've booked with them, unless they decide to offer a gesture of goodwill. Make sure you have the correct insurance policy in place for independent travel.

Availability on their site isn't live, so you can end up with your choice of flight, but no accommodation and vice versa, just the same as with TR, OTB, Alpahrooms, etc. OTAs often have cheaper prices than the tour operators because they don't sell packages, so don't have the responsibility of cover under the Package Regs. You can get the best of both worlds buy finding an agent that holds an Atol and will package their own, so you can tailor make your holiday.

I have a booking with them for next year. I did it in a bit of hurry as Monarch cancelled on me and I really wanted the specific accommodation.

I thought I was booking a package as they make it look like one to an extent. It wasn't until I started getting email vouchers for the hotel and a transfer company that I started to worry.

I did get in touch with the hotel directly and confirmed they have got my booking, accept it and are happy to get a Love holidays voucher. The flights have been directly confirmed by the airline so that just leaves the transfer to go wrong and I can deal with that if needed.

So far all looks OK but your not getting the advantage of a package in that if something goes wrong with the accomodation at least you have some chance of the operator sorting you out but Love holidays have no responsibility to do this.

If I had realised I would probably have just booked the 3 components myself although my research showed it would not have been cheaper in this case, about the same.
European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.

    Good afternoon,

Thank you for your comment, and apologies that it has taken a while to respond.

We had to arrange the correct permissions with the site in order to reply and this was only granted today.

I'm sorry that you had an issue with your booking, and if it has not yet been resolved could you please let me have your HAY or LVE booking reference and I will look into it as a priority.

    Thanks again for your feedback,

Which is what has just happened to me with a holiday to Egypt. Currently waiting for Monarch to cancel flights to Sharm for 23rd Feb (all other carriers have done so) and they appear to be doing rolling one week cancellations (currently until 7th Feb).
