moments_of_sanity wrote: »Oh god, how I remember those days! My girls are now 18 & 17 (17 months between them), they have always been completely opposite, absolutely hated each other, constantly moaned that the other one was favourite, etc etc, fortunately they don't hate each other quite as much as they did but they can and still do drive me absolutely MAD!
Today is the first day back after school holidays and as they are both in 6th form now, they have 'frees' at different times and there only seems to be an hour or so when one of them isn't here under my feet, asking for lifts, money, a particular food that we don't have.....I have had 3 hours to myself this morning and as much as I love my girls, boy am I glad they aren't here!
They will soon both be home and then it will be taking 18 yr old to the dentist, then questions over dinner time and what we are having, filling my whole dining room table with study folders and then asking for hugs and to sit on my lap (yep, they still ask for cuddles and lap sits) when they are fed up or stressed.........they don't get better with age, their requirements just change! :rotfl:
You know what though, I wouldn't change a thing!
I agree with all of this!! They get much less physically draining as they get older....but then become emotionally draining & demanding!!! My mum always said "it's just a phase" and she's right!! The phases pass, you think you've got it sorted...and then something else hits!!!
My DS1 was very hard work....I found getting out of the house, spending time with other mums etc.to be a lifeline!!2nd January 2015: Total £4970.70 Total now: £4878.88 :eek:Mum & Dad £100/£1795.00[STRIKE]Next £135.70/£135.70[/STRIKE]Balance now £0 :j

Yeah I find toddler groups very good. It also allows me to spend that nice quality time with my little ones, nothing to do or worry about for a couple off hours. The 4 year old will go off and play with friends now instead off fighting for attention with the baby.
I have a great network of friends/mums from the older child was a baby and I went to the baby groups. Don't know what I would off done without them! XxDebt Remaing £315 :jBreath out the past, Breath in the futureBig Dreams Start Small0 -
Another moan day.... DS2 won't stop crying despite nappy change two bottles and breakfast...I suppose its getting on for dinner time now tho & sitting on my knee being bounced isn't really helping much.
DS1 has been a nightmare today, just going for everything he isn't allowed screaming blue murder if you take something off him biting throwing things at me and DS2....he's coming into terrible twos I guessPeople don't know what they want until you show them.0 -

He is probably reacting to you giving Ds2 so much attention.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Take them to the park & let DS1 let off some steam.
He wants your attention & won't care if it's praise or shouting as long as you are paying attention to him.
The fresh air will do you good too.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -

Please can I join in with the moaning?! The past 2 weeks have been horrid...Both me and DD have had the cold for almost 2 weeks. Last week was my last week of Mat leave (DD is 8 months). DD is teething (still no teeth!).
This Monday was our wedding anniversary. Plan was to drop DD at nursery, take car for service, do a bit of shopping and go for lunch. Just as we are leaving for lunch, nursery call asking us to collect DD as she is very unsettled. Get there and she's fine lol. Go for lunch and the garage call saying there is major problems with my car, can we go down and see them? Go down, left with £900 bill and car not ready til the following day (my first day back at work, at a new job). Go to leave garage car park, and hubby's car won't start!!
Tuesday - my lovely parents take DD as she's still full of cold so didn't want to risk another phone call from nursery. They also do 30 mile round trip, twice, to get me to and from work. Get my car back from garage, woo hoo!
Wed - Collect hubby's car from garage, almost £300 bill, and it still needs more work doing. DD broken out in terrible nappy rash, nothing clearing it so call doc for appt - nothing til Thu when is when I'm back in work. Have to call my boss to switch days (bear in mind I've only been there ONE day so far!).
Today - Get up to find DD nappy rash isn't nearly as bad, so now don't know if to cancel doc appointment or not! Also discover that I've only got child care tomorrow morning, so can only do a half day in work tomorrow...I've a 20 hours a week contract, and this week have only done 7.5 hours so far, and will only manage 4, maybe 5 hours at a push tomorrow. So will have to do some serious grovelling to my boss.
Will be so glad to see the back of this week!0 -

Yikes! For the nappy rash, metanium plus a sprinkle of cornflour works wonders.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
