Thanks, as it happens my codes arrived today so 7 calendar days after opening the accounts - but, again, well after cards and PINs arrived0 -
Hi all,
I'm not really sure what to do, I've been turned down for this account! I can't see why I would be rejected, got no debts other than student loan, registered on electoral roll etc. I'm thinking possibly they are getting spooked by me being a PhD 'student' even though it's really full time employment and I earn a lot more than the minimum pay in. Is it worth appealing? Sorry if I'm being massively stupid this is the first 'real' account I've applied for since my student one (left uni 2 years ago).
Thank you0 -
Perhaps it has something to do with where you put your income. I am a pensioner so all my income is from pensions, savings and investments. Therefore, I put 0.00 the first two boxes which referred to salary and put it in the other monthly income. You are allowed to put student in the employment status. Also for the question about funding put bills/expenses not student"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

I've just got mine accepted, applied last sunday, accepted by email this morning. How long do fast payments take to go in? I've just transfered a test FP and its not appearing yet online.andrewthomas2008 wrote: »Hi All
Can you guys tell me whether it will be okay to apply online for this account on Saturday or is it best to wait to a working day?
Also can I apply for the 2 plus accounts on the same day.
Thank you very much in advance, have a great bank holiday weekend!
Why would it matter?0 -

Although many FPs arrive literally instantly even on non-banking days, the banks are only obliged to ensure that the payment arrives at the end of the business day following the business day you requested the payment on. So for a payment made today, the obligation is that it will arrive no later than the end of next Wednesday. I would be very surprised if it took anything like that long.0 -
Just applied for this, got accepted, got account number and sort code and logged onto internet banking.
Transferred some money in but its not showing.....
Have i been too keen as the account wont be fully open yet? I am guessing it will go in once account is open and not bounce into a black hole???
Panicking a little right now!Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -

If you have account number/sort code then the account is fully open, so it will get there.
Timing depends on the sending bank as much as receiving - for me payments from Halifax/Lloyds to TSB are instant, payments from First Direct are near-instant, but Smile/Co-op take about an hour and Santander held my first payment until next day; this seems to be standard Santander behaviour for payments to new payees, i've had it happen elsewhere too0 -
