What happened when you tried to apply online? As you can see from my screenshot, I have 3 Enhances and 2 Pluses, and still have the option to apply for further current accounts (not that I have tried it because I don't want any more there).

That's the link that didn't work for me. Went through the main website instead (and re-entered all of my information) and now I have two Plus accounts under one user ID. Just need to apply for gross interest now. :)

Everyone remember: you need to enable paperless billing for both accounts. Do this via online banking using the "Start/stop paper statements" link in the "Your account tools" section on the right side.
  • Got my confirmation through via email at last :D Still confused why they accepted my other half first but took a few days for me. Will await my debit card etc with baited breath!

I'm in the same situation (I posted earlier in the thread, but it's getting quite long now!). I expect to be able to get access to more functionality once I've carried out the 'activation'.

Of course you could always ring and ask them if you want your answer sooner...and post back here what they say.

    My activation code arrived yesterday.

I can now see which accounts have online statements registered (I couldn't before).

One of my accounts wasn't registered for online statements...a few simple clicks and I was all sorted.

question:- i have turned off paper statements for my first account but cannot see the option for my 2nd account? will they be automatically turned off?

according to the email you get there should be a link in account tools to turn paper statement on/off but i cannot see it, can anyone else see this?

Click on Statements to see the money you have paid in.
Under the Recent transactions listed you will see
below the word "Print" you will see a sentence which says

Paper statements are not received for this account Reactivate paper statements Order paper statement

    Click there.

I got my activation code in the post whilst at work. I entered it and tried to apply for a second current account. Immediately I got this notice:

    [/B]What does that mean?

    Same message here :(

I was told in the branch that it was because my accounts had not been amalgamated on their main banking system because of an error when the accounts were set up. I could see them under one user name online, but someone somewhere had registered 3 different user id's for me. Before the branch interview, I was asked to sign in to account to show what happened, and that was their explanation.

Opened 2 plus accounts and have received both cards and both sets of PIN numbers for those cards, not that I'm ever likely to use either of them. Wrapped them up with the other 7 I'll never use and put them in the safe.

Meanwhile I was talking to the neighbour who tried to open 2 down the local branch and was declined. "Those accounts are meant for new customers, but I can upgrade your main account if you wish.". He declined. I told him to open the 2 on-line, one after the other, tried and was successful on both accounts.

So it seems that if you want the accounts, don't go to a branch!

I just applied for this account on the phone and was told I'm not elidgible the CSA suggested I check my credit report and I just have my score is 964. The only blemish I have is from 2009 when I defaulted on a mobile phone contract but this was settled in full in 2011. Not only that, I have the Classic enhance account at the moment and there is more than £4,000 sitting in it at the moment and I have been banking with them for around 5 years now.

I think they must be judging me really harshly, anyone able to offer any other reason behind the rejection?

If I open another account through the main tab page and I have to set up another internet ID, will my previous ID and new ID eventually be merged?
