Presuming these accounts work on 'Calendar month' those people that applied on Sunday (30th March) and got the 88p interest, will need to remember to make £500 payments this month, in order to get interest payments on 1st May, if my understanding is correct.

Just received my debit card :j

    Address is a bit skimpy

    Format as follows:

    Full Name
    House number
    Street name
    Postcode

(Makes you wonder why they bothered with the street name really :D)

Just being a bit skeptical, but will the interest still apply if you have turned off the marketing? I've still got email but turned off phone and I believe post.

I just noticed in the print next to the interest it says register for internet banking, paperless statements and correspondence when available.

Should I turn post/phone back on? I don't mind post as such, but I hate it when they ring me up randomly in the day to 'talk about my account'.

You have to accept online management of the account to qualify for the interest. This includes accepting electronic communication regarding the account itself, e.g. notices.

Marketing preferences have no effect on the interest paid.

The log in details are as per those you agreed when you set up the account. They should have sent you an email of the user id too (but not the password or memorable word)

You don't need the activation code to view the online account (but some features such as paying others are disabled until you input the activation code)

Yep log in is the one I recieved in the email. Forgot password doesn't work either just says detail not recognised.

Two of these opened up very easily just need to find a home for the Enhance money when the rate no doubt takes a plunge in the coming months.

Hopefully some more banks will jump on the high paying current account interest bandwagon

Hi I opened 2 solo accounts for me & the wife in branch yesterday & a joint account to go along with our Classic Enhance accounts. Unfortunately having trouble funding said accounts with faster payments from my relatively new Santander 123 account. I realise banks take fraud protection seriously in this day and age, however is it a case of over zealous fraud protection team, or banks not being over eager to allow the freedom of movement between financial institutions via faster payments ? thoughts as i intend to shuffle money regulary between these banks

Has anybody attempted to open three of these accounts? If so would all three get 5%?
Also couldn't somebody just create an account in a false name? They don't ask for ID or National Insurance number or anything?

A few of us have tried, including myself. Online you will receive an error message, in person you'll get told no.

They do a credit search so the person has to be real, with a searchable credit file. They'll call you in for an ID check should anything not look proper.

And applying in someone else's name or with false details would be fraud.
