Had a late night in Ts last night - My 'personal SA' was working & he very kindly brought out a cage of bedding for my perusal :T
I then asked if he has electric blankets & am now a proud owner of one

try offering your bits and pieces on your local Freecycle.
You would be amazed at what other people can make use of.
I had a canvas garden umbrella with a rip in it so i offered it on freecycle and a lady snapped it up as her brother is a sail maker and she had it refurbished and in the garden in a day and sent me a lovely photograph of it in situ.
I've cleared 2 houses for my dad and m-I-l and almost nothing went to the tip, some things I free cycled, some went to a furniture warehouse run by a hospice group, others to a local womens refuge ,some things went to Oxfam, some for cloth or shoe recycling - yes a few things did come home with me like my Dads garden bench which we gave him - but virtually nothing in the bin.
I tried that before with a computer desk and the cot but nobody ever replied to me (think my local group is full of snobs!)
The car has now gone to the tip and suddenly I feel better as I've remembered the seat cover and side panels are actually missing.
I was still really close to taking the stuff back out the boot and putting it back in the bedroom but didn't :jHistoric Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
Mortgage started June 2015 = £170,000 January 2022 = £134,000
Saving for Xmas 2022= . . Amazon £55

You can always freecycle the extra plants - that way you get to work out the gardeners on your Freecycle group, they might have something you can use and you might even get an invite to have a look at their plot
Once on my group their was a Yorkshire man who had sadly left his rhubarb behind when he moved to Cheshire so he asked on freecycle if anyone had a spare piece so he could grow a new clump and we helped him out.
I also free cycled my rampant raspberry canes that were running amuck“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Also its worth listing bulky things for local collection“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

I know these bits have been sat under the bed for the best part of 2 years and if they stay here they probably won't go anywhere but its still not easy is it?
I think the bit that worries me is I could (if I can find every last piece in this house) put the whole set back together and give it to someone else who can't afford the hundred quid retail price tag (I only paid £15 for it 2 years ago)
If the retail price tag on the item wasn't so high I wouldn't think twice before throwing it away
Edited to say sorry posts overlapped ignore my comment I have just read your feelings on fleabay maybe still consider freecycle though.0 -

agreed, too much power to the buyer, however, I have 99% feedback and now trust people more than ever. One or two bad apples don't need to spoil the lot , but only if you can tolerate them. After 12 months the negative feedbacks will quietly go away.0
