Thanks for your help and advice - we are going into Thomas Cook and hopefully come to a resolution.
They have offered us a stay at the Luxor instead of the Aria but when booking the Luxor was much cheaper than the Aria so would be within our rights to ask them to pay the difference between the 2 at the time of booking?
Thanks
I guess that depends if they admit that it was their fault. Have they or did you just misunderstand?
The Luxor is no where near the standard of the Aria and is much less central0 -
Don't accept the Luxor. Apart from the location, they are like chalk and cheese.
You could plead ignorance at check in and tell the clerk you are 4 guys and booked 2 queen rooms.0 -

except the confirmation says 2 kings!
there has already been lots of good advice about what to do when he gets there.
I wouldnt normally be worried but I do think this maybe best sorted before he gets there0 -
just returned from las vegas after a seven day break at the paris hotel full flight out but immigration still cant cope with four flights arriving all at once spent over an hour there then another 40 minutes waiting for luggage no problems with taxi going direct to hotel trips down to freemont street cocktails on level 107 at the stratosphere and a night to watch jersey boys hotel clean tidy and very central enjoyed looking round the new linq area with quite a lot of testing going on with the wheel good bar next to the wheel called yardhouse good food and a huge choice of beers flight back about 60% full not bad at all my 15th trip in as many years looking forward to next year already0

aaaaand breathe.
welcome back weiser, glad you had a good time.
If I was booked at Aria and I ended up at Luxor I would not be a happy bunny. At all.
I am trying to figure out if I was a bloke going with other blokes if I would just take my chances at Aria and I am pretty sure that I would and deal with a roll-away if I had to.
Luxor is fine. But Aria is much, much nicer...even ignoring the location being vastly superior.
If you are so desperately upset about potentially sharing a bed (boys!) or having a roll-away then I guess consider the offer of Luxor if there is a fair refund to be had.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I have never been asked to show a confirmation in 15 trips, but then I have never had this type of problem.
I agree it should be sorted before he gets there and surely the travel agent has some responsibility here if they have booked 4 guys into 2 beds.0 -

I have been asked once in 15 or so trips, that was a third party booking ,when I wanted a specific type of room and the Cosmo tried to give me another type, similar scenario to the OP
not sure the TA should be asking about sleeping arangements, its not politically correct.0
