Good morning all  Waiting for the sun to break through the mist this morning...

Yesterday was almost a wash-out again where flying and work are concerned: no proper time to do anything in the morning except S&S, then a group visit to the local archives over lunchtime and a semi-failure of a shopping trip (my main item was sold out :(). I spent the afternoon hacking back overgrown shrubs in the front garden - and I took the rubbish to the tip - while DH :A carried on filling holes in the walls of the utility.

However, with the meeting with my colleague looming 10 days from now, I have just about managed to get my brain into gear, and I did a bit of computer work last night, rather than vegetate further in front of the TV. The research is taking me ages, but things are happening slowly. Since 6.00 am today I have sourced a donkey, leather sandals and an Ethiopian chariot :rotfl:

There will be another break in proceedings today as a former work colleague is coming here for lunch :) so I've got to get the house clean and tidy. As DH has been treading in dirt and bits of stripped wallpaper from the utility, I shall be flying with a vengeance. My friend will have to put up with dirty windows, though, as my shoulder is still playing me up, and yesterday's pruning session (in particular, the reaching high up to chop back a honeysuckle and jasmine) has made it ache again. I am so fed up with it!

DH is going out to our local heritage railway today to volunteer. I shall be glad for him to feel that he is doing something useful. He saw a notice in @ld! this week saying that they are recruiting and wanted to apply, but I think that it is wrong of him to try to get paid work when he already has an income from his pension. We can manage very comfortably on what we've got, and there are people far worse off who are desperate for work, especially young people like your son, Dusty (I'm very sorry to hear of his disappointment), and the other flychildren.

    Welcome to newbies.
Mrs-mp, I'd love to have time to sew! My new dining room curtains are still just lengths of fabric in a bag :o
    Bossy, have you seen this?
Special (((hugs))) to Mumto5, Dusty, opto-mum and pigpen's Pixie.

More (((hugs))), spoons and sticks all round, as needed.
Hope everyone has a good day.

i should be doing other things with my time but i tend to get an idea in my head and it becomes an all consuming passion. if only you lived nearer i'd happily convert your bag of fabric into curtains. id forgotten how much i love sewing until this series of sewing bee inspired my to get my machine out for more than just alterations. in my BC (before children) life i was a fully trained sample machinist.

Oh neveah, so sorry, much strength to you and your loved ones xxx

Thanks ionafan had a read, isn't it all nonsense? It's just a word, and in my case it was used endearingly.

Washing out on line, out with DD for a play date shortly then back to docs. We want more of that medicine stuff, it's worked wonders! :T

Bright but icy here atm. I'm going to spend 5min tidying my handbag. The kitchen is tidy, as is DR / LR but I do want to change all the beds later. And need to pop to the shopping centre - mums birthday next week and she's requested posh soap.

Only 4 weeks till we go on hol, kids want to do a countdown chart again :D so we'll make some tonight. And I want them to try on beach shoes. We are ok for clothes and swimmies, but footwear needs checking.

Inlaws go away tomorrow, need to give them a call later.

    Have a nice day X

Bossy, if you or any other flylady happens to have a pair of child's brown leather open sandals something like this which you are about to send to a CS, could you please PM me? I might have a use for them, and if they're what I need I will gladly pay postage. It doesn't matter how worn they are - I just need plain brown and preferably leather. Many thanks!

Kitchen S&S'd. Living room dusted and hoovered. Half the stairs done. Off I go again!
