Must get some netting to prevent same this year. Not anti - birds at all but there was Mr and Mrs duck and another duck - a menage a trois - and between them they ate most of our heucheras too!
Aagh - my favourite plants, got loads of them. Naughty ducks.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Not a bad day. Did zumba and fitsteps (Strictly). Bit of upset as dance instructor is leaving work for a few months due to unspecified (suspected 'ladies') illness. She was really upset, lots of tears so we all hugged her and said she must rest and get well. Poor thing. She's a great dancer.
Dug half a vegetable bed this afternoon (after suitable post-exercise rest in the conservatory with a book). Picked remains of last year's/winter chard/spinach and made salmon florentine, yummy.
Sorted out timetable for Thurs & Fri, busy as I'm not at uni tomorrow; skiving off with OH to meet 10 biking friends outside Cambridge for lunch. Weather forecast good so we'll probably take the bike (ugh crash helmet flat hair). Pleased so much uni work this month as they were late starting back in Jan, and have 3 weeks off at Easter so at least I will store a bit up in the bank.
Did a bit of miscellaneous tidying, but lounge/diner not bad as did it at weekend. Brother-in-law up this w/e so need to get spare room sorted tho it isn't bad at all. Not much menu planning as we're all going to London on Sat so will eat out, and he's leaving after breakfast on Sunday.
Did load in wm while sun out (must check how much electricity that actually uses compared with what the solar panels are making), ready to hang out tomorrow.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
It has been a really long and draining day. Off to bed. I'll do the list first thing as it is easier on the pc than laptop. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Morning all. About to walk the dogs then off to get the hire car. So flying will be minimal today, probably will just take a proper lunch break to get some ironing done.
have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning everyone
Straight from work to hospital with DS yesterday and didnt get home until 8.30pm so no flying done yesterday. Will catch up today after the paid stuff. Back at hospital again next week for the dreaded MRI scan which I am not looking forward to.
GI, how annoying to get a lovely new dishwasher and not be able to use it. Hope you get it sorted quickly.
We called at the big DIY store and bought a new electric shower yesterday so OH is hopefully going to fit it this morning. I am so fed up of just having baths and trying to wash my hair is a nightmare!
Right, off for some brekkie then on with the day! Have a good Wednesday everyone.0 -
Morning all
Boys away to school, DS3 grumpy and in tears which is not a good start to the day and messes up my governing plans for later a bit too.
Plan is to walk with my friend and do my neighbour's back garden (hope they have left the gate unlocked). I'll fly in between.
Have a good day.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Morning all.
It sounds wearing at Kitten Towers, Dusty. Hugs.
Quick question - I started a thread in what I thought was the appropriate place, but have got Zilch replies. Can anyone here help? We're moving all of our monthly/quarterly payments over to one annual one where cheaper and this one I can't figure:

(And if anyone could point me in the direction of how you insert a linky with just one blue word showing, I'll edit this post so it looks neater.)
Now a bit of dry weather has arrived the laundry mountain has been (temporarily) conquered here, so I'm planning out the chalet's after-mouse onslaught. Three changes for five beds, five wool underblankets, all the duvets, ten pillows and a massive pile of towels. It's all got to be done by 11 April. Oh joy.
Being cheered from the sidelines is helping. Tks Valli. And a tree on the Hoe has blossom on it. Lovely.Better is good enough.0 -
I would ring them honey bear. I thought you could only pay it monthly as that's what I've always done lol. I begrudge paying it as don't watch it much anywayHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0
