Hope it went well today for you Scuffer. I got given a chance in the early 80s despite having a record and it never comes up now. I have declared it for jobs which needed discosure though.

Love that emoticon lol and it was a bit frosty this morning but the roads were fine :)

So my first day... Well early morning started quite bad, i was real nervous before i had even left the house and was even doubting myself that i could do this, then just before i was about to leave the house i received a text from my mum wishing me good luck! Add that to my nerves and it nearly reduced me to tears. The bike ride was good and gave me chance to clear my head. I was still nervous but a few deep breaths later i was walking through the door. The first hour was nervy having to introduce myself to everyone but after that i settled in very well. Its a great team and they are great in training me :) lunch is pretty awesome too! The owners brother in law owns a little deli just round the corner and we all get lunch and a coffee for only £2.50 a day and it all is on a tab we pay at the end of the month. The only problem is the lunch is quite a social thing and i have nothing to talk about because the last 2 years of my life has lacked any form of social interaction. I better take a book ;) all in all though it went well, tomorrow will be much better now the nerves are out of the way.

Scuffer - that's a brilliant a/c:I am completely thrilled reading it, feel like sending a totally n.o.m.b. special hug to Auntie for spotting that opening - but I know you've done that many times over already, and for loads more.

The bike ride really is a bonus don't you think? not just budget- and body-wise, but in swooshing through your mind like a clean sweep to set you up for the day.
Be ready for that £50-odd per mth for lunches - sounds v.v.g. indeed.

What book might you take? - it needn't be an alternative to socialising,
could well be a trigger for same. If shared reading taste sparks a conversation or connection, tant mieux.

Mum's text - little steps, little steps, Scuffer. Mum took another BIG one today. Let them come to you. Keep thinking about that weekly p/c though - new territory for you.

Again, so well done - and I bet Manageress is congratulating herself.

Bless you through tonight's very different sleep - not escape to oblivion, but anticipation.
I bet I'm not the only one who feels proud of you tonight - and I'm fully aware how ridiculous that must seem.

Well done young man, and so glad mum got in touch :T.

Sounds like a great place to work - any more vacancies :D ?
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
