Parking fine on private land

A few weeks ago I received a letter from the company Excel Parking. They were demanding £60 to be paid within 2 weeks or something like that, otherwise it would increase to £100. A couple of weeks later I received the letter demanding the £100, both of which after speaking with several people and reading on this site about what to do, I chose to completely ignore them.

Now I have received a letter from a debt collection agency called 'ROXBURGHE. demanding I pay £160 within 2 weeks but doesn't say what will happen if I don't.

Has anyone had any dealings with either of these companies that can advise me as to what I should do? I have tried looking in the FAQ's but can't seem to find anything.

Thanks in advance.

there are dozens if not hundreds of these PEEL CENTRE ones on here m8 , use the forum search tool and put in the search word PEEL and you will see plenty of them, many replied to by myself

also the NEWBIES sticky thread you missed has all the info you need and pays special attention to PEEL and Roxburghe (either or both words can be used as search words in the forum search tool)

for the last 18 months (since POFA 2012 in oct 2012) you DO NOT IGNORE pcn charges and letters as the RK can be held to account , so no idea where you got the idea to ignore from ?

By the way, i read on this site somewhere that ignoring was what some choose to do, and having spoken to a few people who had done similar.

that was probably prior to oct 2012 , same as the martin lewis video etc

POFA 2012 in oct 2012 moved the goalposts for england and wales and IGNORE has not been the advice given on here in over 12 months for those 2 "countries"

IGNORE still stands for northern ireland and scotland as POFA 2012 does not apply there

I can assure you I have been replying to peel centre threads in the last 6 months and not once was IGNORE ever mentioned

you should have come here for advice (like you did today) when you got the first letter , as its hard to turn the clock back, much easier to deal with within the time limits than when debt collector letters arrive

    ps:- read this one https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4897908

it also seems to me that they have broken POFA 2012 in not getting the PCN to you in the correct timeframe , so maybe complain to the BPA about it , bearing in mind that if I am correct they can only pursue the DRIVER (if known), you are not obliged to divulge the drivers details either

check my 2 additions near the bottom of the previous post, as I believe the NTK is not POFA 2012 compliant, so check the dates of the contravention and the first NTK (should normally be with the RK within 14 days)

read this regarding POFA compliance https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4907631

different company etc but they cannot cite POFA if it does not apply so check the original Excel paperwork

I had a read of the other thread you posted, which sounds very similar to my situation, seems like my options are to either wait and see if Roxburghe refer the matter back to Excel who may or may not take me to court over it, or swallow my pride and pay it?

Under what circumstances would they not be allowed to quote POFA, and how would that effect my standing on not paying? No worries if that is too long winded an answer to give or if I've missed it in the last post too.

post #1 of the newbies thread has links to POFA and also explains about checking the NTK for validity etc

if its not POFA compliant, they can only chase the driver, if they know who it is (ie:- under the old rules not the new ones)
