Morning everyone!
Well, the fenceman phoned this morning to say he would be dropping off the materials during the day, and he'll be starting work later in the week. Hurray, hurray, hurray. The sooner we can block out next door, the better. Have reminded DH to tell him (if I'm out) that we want the good side of the fence facing us... it's next door's boundary, we're just organising and paying for it all.
WM on, DW emptied and reloaded, have swished and swiped the kitchen, and done a number of chores from my "to do" list. Off to the gym shortly, fortunately I need to get some veggies for tonight's dinner, so I can slip into the gym while I'm out shopping.
Dinner tonight will be hm chicken pie.
<hugs> to those who are feeling poorly or down.

Good morning all!
First of all I want to apologise for not having read any of the posts yet today - there are/were 32 when I arrived here & I know I would be on another page by the time I had read them all (& my pages are set to 40 posts) so if there is anyone in need of hugs - - - - ((((HUG))))
I have not been here at all last week, as it has been SOOOOO busy, and I was away in Portsmouth staying with DD & babysitting DGDs for some of the week, & very busy days every day even when I was (supposedly) at home. I am just so tired today, and the house needs major Anthea Turnering! DD & DGDs were here this weekend, too & that means all our family descends on us to visit them when they are here!
And on Saturday our pastor was ordained & inducted into our church - (that means he officially becomes our pastor - we haven't had a pastor for about 5 years) It was another very busy day, but very special. Especially as he is a friend & has grown up in the church here.
Anyway, I just wanted to say hello - and now I am off to read the posts!
Have a good day!0 -
Morning Every1 :hello: Just read a news report that says the summer is going to continue wet, and that our real summer was in April. Sob. I SO need to do a couple of car boot sales - we're living amongst boxes in our small living room - and the big sale keeps getting rained off around here.
Slow start again today. PsychoKitty wanted feeding at 2 am  Not good when OH has to be up at 5am and has real problems getting back to sleep.
Can't work out if I'm going down with a cold or not. Keep sneezing but don't feel sick, so think it might be mega-dust. Planning on hoovering sheets before changing them. I sorted through some papers in the bedroom yesterday, whilst watching a very weird movie I had taped (The Game - what's that all about?), and I'm allergic to dust. Couldn't ask OH to hoover - he was ironing 25 work shirts!
Really AM going to prepare to do 20 week challenge. I'm fed up of living in clutter, with halfpainted walls and no organisation. There has GOT to be a better way to live. I did write a to-do list on a website called RememberTheMilk on the theory that if I write it down it gets out of my head. I ended up with 250 outstanding items on there, and none of them are simple! E.g. go through the mending pile (a clothes bin worth), listen to CD's and decide if to keep or sell (several days worth of music), sell mums jewellry (been in attic for 10 yrs since she died. Don't like it but hard to work out how best to get rid of it). Get carpenter in for 8 jobs. Change mortgage to better deal. ... etc etc. Since we don't have kids you'd think we could get on top of our lives wouldn't you?
Rant over
Going to go in the bath and read for a while - just realised I do have "cold-aches". Ugh. Have a good day. 0 -
Well I've had tea, done dishes & showered and smell all sweet now.
DD has the nicest shower gels.
Peem Congratulations about your new kitchen. :T Let us know when you start the thread. I wouldn't want to miss it. I am finally getting to enjoy mine.
Stepf I can understand your anger. I would be too. I think I would say something to her if you know her well once you settle down and tell her how unacceptable it was for you.
Kyle We were in Aviemore in winter & obviously the adventure park was closed. Otherwise we would have gone there.
:rotfl: Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Stephejb, you're not overreacting. I'd be fuming if anyone hit one of my children. Can you talk to your friend about it? I stewed for ages over someone shouting at my son when he was only about 7 months old. Eventually I had to tell her I was mad at her. Instantly felt better! It's just not on. If you choose to smack that's one thing. Someone else doing it is not acceptable. If he was being a bit of a horror, she could have spoken to you about it. You were obviously dealing with it and you can't do more than that.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Morning Chums , well tomorrow is the day of reckoning for me. I get the results of my biopsies in the afternoon, so fingers crossed for me. I have been keeping busy and positive for the last 10 days, and my house at the moment is sparkling. Even all my washing and ironing is done and put away. I have been de-cluttering my spare room and my computer room, and today I am going to sort out the electrical trunking in my bedroon. It has been sitting there for months waiting for me to run the t.v. and dvd wires into it .So that will be another job out of the way.I have found that by keeping busy I am not thinking too much, which is a good thing I think . The week-end was good although the weather was awful. When are we going to get some summer. I have a lovely new patio that I long to sit on, but at the moment I would need a big brolly and a duvet. !
This afternoon I have to take my grandson down to the Meridian Studios in Maidstone where he is doing some extra work for a few days .He has done all his exams and will be starting college in September so he has 10 weeks off . He get £25.00 per day for extras work, so he is enjoying earning a few bob. he will be 17 in November and is saving hard for his driving lessons . Well I hope everyone is O.K. and <<hugs>> for those who feel sad or lonely this morning.
Onwards and upwards thats my motto today0 -
Hi JackieO - hope all is ok this afternoon.0

Just had my motor insurance renewal, £258, its through the bank with Churchhll, I did a quote through Quido and Churchill quotes £218 plus a £60 cash back, so guess what I am going to do?????????? I have read a bit about the quidco site and understand you have to disable cookies for the payments to track, please can someone tell me how to do it, saving almost £120 on my car insurance is very imprtant to me just now. They say that the first year in a new property is the worst, and boy are they right, have just had a bill from the water board for the water up to the time we had the meter put in £60odd plus I still have another couple of payments to make.......I will be glad when it settles down a bit.
Right off to make scones for this afternoons visit to my friends for afternoon tea, we are playing host the an email penfriend from the Czech Republic.
See y'all later...........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
I'm dancing around the living room doing a jig...well almost. Received a package this morning...thought it was a little gardening set I'd ordered through Daily Express. As I opened it I saw the 'Renault' logo and 'F1'. Hmmmm thought me what's going on. I've managed to get 2 tickets for Sunday 8th July for the Silverstone F1 Grand Prix! Includes breakfast, lunch and a spot on the Renault / ING grandstand.
Whilst I love watching F1 I'm not that bothered about going. However, my OH is as happy as larry. I'm giving it to him as an early birthday pressie and he's already got someone in mind for the 'guest' ticket. OH was so depressed yesterday. He was angry, grumbly, upset, etc.... Tonight I suspect I'll be scraping him off the ceiling.
Old Style....what old style can't concentrate now.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -
