Morning,
Hope every1 had a good weekend.
I'm hung over and feeling decidedly wobbly!! Children are driving me mad - it just seems like I'm invisible and that they can speak to me like they are Kevin from Harry Enfield when they are only 4 and 6. Family have told me it's because I'm too soft on them but I really can't see that at all. I'm just stressed coz they can be really vile and embarrasing screaming 'I hate you' blah de blah.
Anyway, OS wise - not a lot going on . I've done the b/fasts, lunch boxes, put washing on - that's about it.
Got to get uniforms ready and walk dog.
Hope every1 has a good day,

Good morning early birds!
Well, yesterdays baking had mixed results - the cheese straws are fab but the scones required a little more raising. Oh well, they are filling and will just have to do.
Am so tempted to do the hobnob thingies but will wait until the weekend as I don't have all the ingredients and don't want to ruin my grocery challenge!!
Today I have clients all morning then the car is going in for its MOT at lunchtime. Fingers crossed!!!
Karate for the children this evening, provided the car is still on the road, and lovely easy egg and chips, my favourite nursery food, for dinner when they get in!!
I hope everyone has a good day xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

hee hee when we was on hols in the dominican they try and hassle you in 2's they think that if they take the man away from hearing distance they can convince the woman to buy any old tack, my OH laughs cos he knows by the time they finished they wish they hadnt lol, its the only time he doesnt moan about MSE..
How do these workmen salesmen etc think we run a house, kids, hubbys, cats, etc etc and not be canny about money.. The only time i get any sense out of them is if im speaking to a woman like when i did last week at the garage, no cons no confusing lingo and guess what they will get my business again
Oh and my favourite saying to salesmen at the moment is oh is that right will get back to you when i check it out on the internet lol,, they know you can find out any info good or bad about anything on the net so they normally stop with the bull and just get on with it.. ps have even pretended to check the net on my phone hee hee (not that i know how to do that)Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear

Morning everyone.
I must try twinks hobnobs that everyone is talking about can someone point me to the recipe please.
Overcast here again, but not much washing to do so will get ironing done instead, have tons of ebay parcels to post and wrap, also some more items to list, my hubby thinks im bonkers as im selling everything that isnt nailed down this week as need to clear a debt by 2 weeks today and so far im on track. It means iv had a huge clear out that was needed plus have extra pennys to throw at the debt.!! Just means spending most of the week at the post office!!
Tea tonight is Donnas Mcd`s, in other words burgers on cob with homemade french fries!!
Ds1 is getting really worked up about his visit to big school on Wed, he will spend the day there and have lunch but he is getting hiself in a right state about it, i know once he gets there he will be fine but it makes it hard as there is only 3 kids from his current school going to this new school so think hes worrying he wont know anybody. Im sure he will be fine.
Off for another coffee
Catch you all later

grrrrr! me and 10yodd get that at football - we have season tickets for brentford and ocasionally (maybe three times a season) exoh comes. we are surrounded by men and have lost the count of the number of times someone will ask exoh something like who's that who just came on is it such and such and exoh will answer yes so as not too sound like an ignoramus and then either me or dd will correct them both - no its such and such - we just signed him from .. he normally plays on the left but.... - then they will both ignore us and turn to another man who will confirm what we just said and they will both nod wisely and say cheers mate leaving us openmouthed. Other times dd will say something clever and a man behind us wil shout it out louder while all his friends go ha ha nice one mate and slap him on the back.
went to friend's bbq last night and left with the right hump - i took 2yo dgs and by the end of the afternoon he was grumpy and tired and ready to go home. he had been getting a bit naughty and had given one of the women a smack and had already sat on the naughty step for it. as i was getting him ready he smacked her again and she HIT HIM BACK! I know it was very hard cos i pulled him away and the smack mostly hit me - I was so shocked i wnet home without a word and cried when i got in for not blasting her but she is my friend's friend and i didn't want to upset my friend. This was not an older woman from a generation that thinks a cuff round the ear is acceptable from anyone - she is younger than me and trying for a baby! Maybe I'm overreacting but surely it is up to the carer to dole out punishment. poor dgs has never been hit in his life except by other children - all she said was that she had told him she would hit him back - excuse me 2yo v 38yo - fair contest? And it didn't do him any good - he was just as naughty on the way home. I can't get it out of my mind and haven't told his mum. I am very clear about smacking as I had a violent upbringing and marriage and dd feels the same - rightly or wrongly that is our choice - rant over!
today plans are to furnish the now cleared out spare room and work out a proper intinerary for exbil who is ocming on friday
have a good dayI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Morning everyone:)
Feeling pretty broke this morning, had to borrow £20 from OH. Not sure why since we've been living off rations for the past fortnight
Have done a 'vitrual' Tesco shop and think I'll just make it -need to buy lots of fresh fruit and a little pot of yogurt to start my hm stuff off again. I'm also out of oats Gingham, can't manage without them
We're having marinated chicken thighs cooked on the griddle (to remind us it is summer) tonight and a nice salad. Big fruit salad for pud
Might pop into Worcester and register for a French course starting in September -need an interest other than food.
Enjoy your days everyone :wave:0 -
Good Morning All
Hope we had a lovely weekend. Sorry I didn't get the chance to come on, I was quite busy.
I went to see the new baby on Friday, he's gorgeous. They are home now, came out on Sun.
Went to a work colleague's engagement party on Sat night. Myself & DD went. OH stayed home with DS.
Shopping and housework yesterday, then I had a technician out to sort my Sky Tv, not been able to receive a signal since thursday!
Other than going to OH's parents for tea, as it was his dad's birthday, I sat & watched most of the concert for Diana. Oh, I did some baking sunday morning, made some oatmeal biscuits, but I forgot to add the sugar, so DD ate most of them with cheese!
Roast chicken dinner yesterday, it was lovely. Thinks its either suasage casserole later or savour mince, not decided yet.
DS has decided not to go to the funeral and stay for his new school visit instead on Tues. We will hold our ceremony in the garden, play FIL favourite song (you'll never walk alone by gerry & the pacemakers), light a candle & say a prayer. I must search the net later for some inspiration.
Despite my dad moving house on Friday, Ive (as of yet) not been told his new address.
Good luck kyle with the new start of the new you!
hope you get the vegetarian meals sorted Hester
Hugs to those who need them, must run now & go for a shower.
Take care

Here's the thread - Twink's recipe is post 4.
DS is due to go on a history trip today to North Yorkshire (they send the Y7s out to make space for the visiting *new starters*). Just seen on the news, that there's been some more flooding, so they might not get there. Same thing happened to DD 2 years ago on the same trip

Morning All
The sun was out until a minute ago and was lovely and warm but now has disappeared. Hope it comes out again but will check the forcast in a minute, have loads of washing to do so will certainly make life easier.
PP - hope your hospital visits go ok
Hypno - went to the school fete yesterday and one of the things I look forward to is the cream scones, well someone else must have made them this year. It was like eating a brick - did really try and eat it - had to have 2 cups of coffee to wash it down but had to give up half way through!
Plan of action today - some housework, some paperwork but priority given to laundry. Also need to pop to Asda for a few bits. Roast chicken with trimmings tonight as didnt have yesterday.
Need to go and check the news now to find out whats happening in London with all the security alert. One of our drivers has to deliver there everyday.
Hope you all have a good day.0
