Still a very thick wall, but a suggestion, Find a Sky installer and get him to do it for you, they will have all the right kit.

It is very thick and i`m doubtful now seeing as more experienced DIY`ers than me are surprised at the width

    The bits only £6.

Not a problem using a corded up a ladder, but how are you going to get a 1 metre stand off from the wall?

I'd get one of the bits and go steady from the inside but you do risk blowing the face off the brick.

I was about to mention the idea of standing at the top of a ladder with a drill with a 1m drill bit on it possibly not being the safest idea but was beaten to it.

An 80 cm thick wall is enormous, are you sure there isn't a hidden room in there somewhere or do you live in a medieval castle??? ;)

If there is a huge cavity it may be very tricky threading the cable through and getting it to come out the other side without the end dropping down into the cavity.

There must be an easier way of doing this....

This is why this forum is so helpful , the Ladder and 1 meter (or even 800mm) drill bit for one , and then this as well...

I am confused why my 3 bed end terrace has walls that are by all accounts thicker than the norm , i am 150% sure i measured correctly but i think i will have to check myself!

It might be worth checking if he knows someone with scaffolding and the tools to do the job for you. Will probably only take an hour or 2 with the right equipment, and potentially all day if you're trying to improvise.

Get a man in. If you are a bit uncertain, having to splash out on the drill bit, gotta sort out a ladder stand-off, gotta hold your massive tool just right while you hammer away, and then gotta sort out any mistakes you made.... get someone in to do it. It's not a big job and can either be tied onto another bigger job, or is an ideal test job for a new workman's future suitability.

You might fall off the ladder and break your neck. Splash out the dosh on this, and count it as MSE that you've not got to take a month off work, or that Mrs Dan-Dan won't need a new black dress and scarf!
