mrning all...no hangover but did wake up at 2am hungry again & had to get up, have sandwich & wait for it to go down before I could sleep. Body does not appreciate the new eat rubbish & be merry regime me thinks...also had heartburn which I havent for ages! Tonight we're having a healthy meal! Wil pop in later but hope you have a good day...chores to do as house looks like a bombs hit it & we have vistors today!

I have to say FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF dont believe it! The hot water is luke warm....enough is enough so have rung the new plumber to see if he can come over...heating is working but water very on & off - luke warm one min & hot the next - showers are ok but mum likes a bath! (fussy b!!) I dont know if he can come out before Christmas & we'll survive if he cant (as long as the heating doesent go!) but its just SO annoying having spent so much already but cant leave it as it is. Just trying to be positive & remember that its only the second time in 8 years anything has gone wrong with it....
Just back from the last minute (£50!!) bits in Sains. Did get some nice bits that I shouldnt have but wanted to contribute too IYKWIM plus got freezer stuff so it will last! Need to make ice cream and one more lot of turkish delight later & then its all done....friend is popping over in a mo & then I need to pop some presents over to the boys I babysit for and more friends (I have 2!!) coming at 5...then nowt! Must look at whats on TV! Also need to do more wrapping! Never ending isnt it!

What an expensive week!!! Never mind, it is all done now, so back to fevered money saving from now on!!

Plumber #2 has just been - a lovely bloke who has fixed the boiler. He confirms what I thought - was ripped off! He thinks I should report them to Corgi. Basically the first part was put in wasnt set properly so the gas pressure was insufficient to get it working. Had they done that it would have worked fine. Therefore the pump & other bit they put in werent needed. Its a lesson learned - get a receipt & never pay cash. Bottom line is that I cant proove that they were even here so very little I can do & also while knowing its not DFW am not going to take it further as I just want to put it behind me & enjoy Christmas. Feel a bit gutted but then should have trusted my gut reaction from the start. New plumber is lovely & will service my boiler for £38 (his standard fee!) in Jan/Feb when I have more money. He is an absolute sweetie and left with a pot of my best straw jam!
Friends coming over in a mo so wine in order!! Only two more sleeps, we have hot water, central heating & my neighbors son who is coming Christmas day brought me over a lovely bunch of Christmas lillies - white lillies (my fave) with a decorated gold twig with a kis and thank you for all I do for them (not much) & he also apolgised for the time he hadnt helped me when I asked for help so we talked about that (I told him it upset me as I rarely ask anyone for help & it felt like a slap in the face - he said he was feeling depressed so all happy). The flowers meant alot as they have so little to give & they arent cheap - nearly got some myself earier & didnt as an over extravagence so very chuffed & told him this. It made my day really...and mums!
Yes hypno fevered money saving in the new year. Nothing else to get now and fridge full up of yummy food, nice wine & now spending time with people I love!

Thanks PAP - wont be much done on the CJ front until later this week so dont stress over it! Happily consuming wine & watching vanity fair which I'm sure I've seen before! Night all!!

breathe....calm.....just rang the first plumber to ask for the £135 back which didnt end in the reasonable discussion I would have liked! They feel that I should have called them a fourth time to come out again which I asked if she seriously thought was reasonable after already havig 3 visits & over 600 costs! She did but I said I wasnt prepared to do that and was happy with the decisio I made. I've given them until 7th Jan to respond and said if they didnt I'd refer to corgi & trading standards so we'll see what they say. I said I didnt want to argue about it but neither am I prepared to let it go. I dont want to have to take it further but will if I had to...we'll see but its all very upsetting for all concerned. Of to the allotment for a bit after a bath, thankfully no shopping to do.

Hey - really gald to see you've phoned them!! Go you!! Now you've given them a reasonable time to respond, at least the wheels are in motion. Would it be worth writing a follow up letter by recorded del? Might be worth it?

Thanks sea - I feel so upset about the whole things though. Its all so nasty but I now find it laughable that she seriously expected me to let her come in take stuff out & then leave my boiler not working!! Like I'm going to do that! At the end of the day I have nothing to loose - I'm more than happy for corgi to inspect the boiler if it comes to that but I'm hoping they just pay up & that will be the end of it.
Popped to the allotment & cleaned the loo and mum did a bit of weeding. Its looking untify up there so will try & have a clear out after Christmas & get some digging done. Did last minute bits of shopping (bread) and now home for a couple of hours before visiting & getting petrol for boxing day trip to my best mates in Wiltshire! Feel quite tired as woke up at 4.00 again and couldnt get back to sleep for ages so at some pint will try & have a snooze...wha an exciting life I lead!
