Massive hugs honey - it must be sooo frustrating. But despite all this you've still managed to pay off nearly £800 - not that far off your £1000 target especially considering you've now had to fork out the £400 for the heating so I think you are doing great and are a bit of a star. A strip wash? I think I'd be smelly lol!!!

Did you get my PM the other day - you decided what you'd like to do? Wish I was round the corner - you could come and have a nice cuppa.

I rang people I babysit for to ask if I could drop boys pressies over & they said they may want me over Christmas which would be great! Will pm back!

  • aww thanks sea - support appreciated :) Just back from the big shop which was gobsmacking 160 but mum paid...heating & water now fixed but still making a noise & the grand bill was a breathtaking 460 in the end! Had a haircut & she has a good plumber so will get his number! Even better news is that the woman downstairs left a note to say shes away for 2 weeks so I can just chill & not worry about noise, sound of TV etc!! Fab news. Tomorrow is the ballet & picking my ring up so a nice easy chilled day!

Well todays news is the boiler is gone again! The pressure kept rising so I bled the rads to try & get it down again but it was still to high so rang the plumber who said turn a knob which I did...pressure went down but wouldnt stop and dial wouldnt turn back! By the time we realised that I had to turn it in the same direction as its a spring thing (ie not turn it back as would be obvious!) the whole thing had drained & water just kept on flowing! They are coming this afternoon while mum & I are at the ballet - no heating or water at all now as its all turned off!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I did say though that I expected them to resolve this without extra money involved as this should have been sorted yesterday before they left - when I got back from hairdressers it was high pressure & still making a noise so not on really! Fingers crossed that they sort it!
Anyway...breathe ...calm. I'm not going to let this ruin our day! We're off to town to get "the ring" which has been resized. When my lovely granny died 2 years ago with her money I designed a beautiful white gold, emerald & baguette diamond ring (square emerald with diamond either side) which is (a) absolutely the most beautiful thing I possess (2) very special and reminds me of my granny who I still miss regularly so I've missed it since having to take it off when I lost weight! Its now been resized & I get to pick it up today which is v.exciting. Even better is that my mum is buying my boots vouchers off me so the cost of the ring is negated which is fab!! Thank goodness for surveys! Plus we're having lunch out, getting a chestnut pan (my mum sad as a reminder of the boiler which I said I actually didnt want! I said much better to have it as a reminder that this is the first Christmas that I end the year with no o/d and less in debt!) and going to have yummy roasted chestnuts - nothing like them!!
Hope you have a good day all!
Hugs for you & please pray, touch wood, cross toes & fingers that the boiler is fixed when we return!

Good luck with the boiler - can't believe it playing up again - grrrr. Would it be worth looking at getting a cover for it? British Gas (who we have) cover it for £16 a month and also all radiators etc.

Hope you have a wonderful day :)

  • Thanks sea! Got home after a nice day to find they had been -was worried they hadnt & never been so pleased to see a pilot light lit!! Another part but only 15 so agreed to pay for the part as did feel for them as they's travelled from Swansea to Cardiff 3 times (140 mile round trip!) in 3 days so in good conscience couldnt not pay for it! New plumber has rung & I'll have a chat with him & will definately be investigating boiler insurance - mum wants it too!The boiler is now 8 years old so think it will be money well spent! Just need to investigate good cover (on here of course!). Hopefully that will be the end of the drama for Christmas...
We went to town, pottered & got my ring whch i on my finger & there it will stay (even when digging!). Had a lovely lunch and mum has done the accounts so cheque paid in...both of us can now relax bless her she feels for me which means alot! Most shopping done (including hunting down the elusive cloves for the ham!) and also got a chestnut pan so we can have yummy chestnuts which I love! No log fire but the gas will do!
Ballet was lovely and its quite incredible how flexible they are! Also how taught pert those man bottoms are! Not an inch of fat - pure pert beautiful rear!! Now being subjected to strictly (sorry for those that like it!) & chilling in PJ's - pressie wrapping & consuming the latest wine (an australian red for those that may be interested!)...bliss! Hope you're all ok. Off to catch up now!
