Hi everyone.
Not been around for the last week, things got too hectic here for one reason or another.
Maralum- Have you read Raising Boys by Steve Biddulph. In it he explains that for some reason boys get a boost of testosterone at 4. Though Owen's behaviour is probably linked to his feelings for his new sister as others have said I think that all info gained helps us to make sense of what might be going on inside them!...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Hiya,
I've got on top of all my left over jobs in the house and garden today and I'll be ready to start the week tomorrow. I'm absolutely shattered though!
Thanks for the new thread Lil_me, I like the look of some of those extras this week.
Gonna keep it short as I'm in need of a soak in the tub.

Maralum I'm a huge fan of 123 magic too: it seems to depersonalise any issue and certainly gives me calming down time. My eldest now howls 'don't count 3 mummy!' if he has genuinely made a mistake or not heard or misunderstood a request rather than just being naughty. I've also found that behaviour deteriorates in direct consequence to me forgetting the routine: when I end up in a slanging match with a 3-year-old I know it is time for me to reread the book! It was given to me by a granny-type friend who was given it by an old schoolfriend of hers who is now a well-respected psychologist and she reckons it ought to be funded by the government and given free with every child... I agree! Is it home time yet?0

This is another one I need to reread: DS1 is on a definite alpha-male high at the moment - lack of subtley in the vocabulary department doesn't help, but being told how to drive, what I 'must' and 'must not' do etc is driving me further round the bend than I already am!
Right - I'm going to get on with the list now - lady in white coat is coming round tomorrow: one thing being branded barmy, quite another slovenly! Is it home time yet?0 -
BAck from diggerland, another disaster lol DS2 first child head first into MUD and I mean toe to ears!! He seemed fine, was a bit reluctant to eat then when we got to the car found out why, threw up everywhere!! Suppose at least it wasn't in there this time! Spent the last half hour cleaning car out in the rain. Think he'll be off school tomorrow.
DP will probably have to stay with him as I've volunteered to take my Mum's friend out to some dog rescues tomorrow she wants a dog, think she's finding it even harder since her hubby died as their dog died 2 weeks before he did. They've always had a dog.
Think I might see if I can get a couple of things done tonight with housework side as will be a busy day tomorrow as I have an appointment with the dietician at 3.15 aswell. Oh and my assignment to finishSo if I don't pop in tomorrow, you know why!
One day I might be more organised...........

Lil_me - really sorry to hear about little poorlies. It always seems like one thing after another doesn't it.
I've been up and about today and the house is a total pigsty. Ok, hubby managed to look after the children but, pleeeeaaassseeeeee, why can't he keep the place tidy too. It's going to take ages to sort it out as there isn't one room that isn't seriously trashed except the two I was using - living room and sitting room. No washing has been done so there's no uniforms for tomorrow. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Ok, winge over! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I feel as though I have PMS and i'm not supposed to get that now after my op. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Sorry, i'll just go and stand in the rain and take a few deep breaths as it isn't the end of the world! xxJanuary budget

Hi all :hello:
We went away on a last minute holiday to ... Yorkshire  last week! We escaped the worst of the weather, journey up was the worst bit, M1 blocked because of the worries about the resevoir. Nothing like the experiences of some of you. Need to fly this week. Have got masses done since our return on Friday, washing and ironing mountain scaled and all holiday gubbins put away.
I tried to catch up with last week's thread, but as quickly as I could read inbetween all the usual family stuff to do I could see extra pages being created.. so I gave up, but what a week! Shoes, lovely baby photos, flood pictures, illnesses.
Hope everyone is feeling up for the challenge this week, and thanks for the smiles from what I did read. Hugs to all,
