I use something similar to one of these
http://www.lakeland.co.uk/24284/36-Peg-Laundry-Airer
for small items, and hang it on the corner of the whirligig; it makes it a lot quicker to whisk in if it starts raining.:o
I have to admit, I clicked your "lookalike" link and exclaimed "SIXTEEN POUNDS?! That's outrageous! I understand that on the whole Lakeland's quality is excellent and it's clearly a large... peggy thing… but even still. I buy mine for £1 each at the "crap shop" and the pair I have currently have been going for a good year with no signs of failing me [/temptingfate]. I agree they're invaluable, I hang mine in the airing cupboard where the boiler is and our biggie smalls dry in no time.
Haven't achieved a huge amount today, but I'm enjoying some silly time with the boys0 -
Afternoon
Done loads i ncluding sanding down near the front door and the paint was flaking, don't want my April guests to think I live in a hovel, then went to garage to get the paint.........................
Prised the lid off paint................
Only to find there was about 1/2 inches left in the botton of the tin, that was rock solid!.............
Found another tin of 'taupe' paint, so lid off that, and painted around the front door, it is adifferent colour to the rest of the hallway, but not vastly, so if any one asks I'll just say 'it is a feature door way' and hope I get away with it.
Clean all the lower guttering out, nto sure it counts as flying but it is done, I don't have a ladder tall enough for the top guttering, so on the hunt in the neighbour hood, for some one who does, that I can borrow and finish the job.
e.on site is off line for 'work' was going to enter my meter reading, they still haven't got back to me over my meter readings etc............

I agree L@keland's prices are a bit *gulp* HOW much?? - it was just somewhere I knew I could get a quick link to the type of gadget.:D
Talking of L@keland - I went in there the other day looking for sandwich bags - I'm coming to the end of the pack of 1000 I got for not-very-much a couple of years back; and not only have those been discontinued, but the only ones they had were £3.59 for 48. No, that's not a typo; nearly 75p per bag!!:eek::eek: Needless to way I [STRIKE]walked[/STRIKE] wheeled myself out! I got some in @ldi, in the end. They're only for Mr LW's lunch, !!!!!!; they don't need to be anything posh!:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Not a lot done here, had an hour between work and collecting littlies, so cleared fridge of grot (bin day tomorrow) and made lunches, cooked some spuds and flapjacks. Just had l/o soup for tea.
Must remember its a dress down day at work tomorrow, raising money for a local charity. Also might go up in loft for a bag to go away at weekend, and start packing a few bits...
Right, kids have finished tea, they can have the little pancakes and syrup (and choc buttons) after they have got pjs on...Bossymoo

Ionafan and Yorkshire lass, I have turned this house upside down looking for it, and to be fair it was one that DD4 was more keen on than DS. It started getting me down, so I thought it wasn't worth depressing my mood about. So I went in on Friday last week, £3.99 was the replacement cost, so scraped the shrapnel together and now it's dealt with and gone.
Mummysroysof 3.......yep gas and electricity is expensive because of the way that the big 6 set the pricing structure. My house is very high usage mainly due to fact DS runs around with the night terrors, so upstairs has at least one low energy bulb on in each room, I would hate for a tumble or an injury to occur cos I chose to pinch the wrong penny
My monthly DD is £214 a month, which is all current use no debt, taking into account best tariff for my annual consumption in KWH and all applicable discount, such as DD. My house has the most suitable types of insulation (cavity wall and max depth of loft insulation) my water and heating are on timers for most appropriate times of demand rather than running all day everyday.
Because of DD3 skin condition she has either two showers or two baths a day or one of each, so that is a lot of hot water, and lots of towels which then cannot be reused without washing, so that accounts for ALOT of my expenditure. Cooking is a big sink hole as most nights I end up cooking vegan and non vegan meals, seriously thinking if electricity gets anymore expensive, I will force us all vegan and raw........30 seconds in food processor ladle in bowls et Voila! dinner is served
HTHThe cold never bothered me anyway0
