Not too bad but need to fit in a few more bits today while rushing around like a blue ar**d fly. First to walk the hound. I have just been headbutted. ROTFL
Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Natty wishing you and Amy a lovely day together.
Is it really only 8:38.
I'm going to put the WM on before heading out, hoing for a good drying day.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Morning all.
Lozzy - DD doesn't want to cuddle or anything. All she wants to do it lay on the sofa and watch TV :rotfl:
Been up since 6.30, meds done for DD, sofa throws washed and in the drier, wash load from last night dried, dvr sorted and my 1 programme watched. I've also taken the fleece linings out of the livingroom curtains. DD keeps asking for them to be closed over as its too bright, but with them lined it was too dark :rotfl: Now I'm going to sit and watch my other programmes online before DD gets up and starts another Bones marathon!
Later I need to do some paid stuff as my order is due tomorrow and I can see me spending next week trying to fit in this weeks errands into 2 days before my delivery arrives next Wednesday. Its only admin stuff though so I can easily do that while DD is on the sofa
:wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
(((Hugs)) to Natty - glad Amycat has perked up; hope the longer lasting steroid gives you more quality time with her.
Skinty, hope you have a better day today. PM me if you want to. My DH says that I spend at least as much time with the Flyladies as he does with what I call "his stupid computer games", and he's probably right
Welcome tigerfeet. Don't exhaust yourself trying to clean the whole house in 2 days - you won't manage it without being too tired to work on the other 3 days!
Because your flying time is so limited, I would suggest that you make yourself a list of daily essentials (packed lunches, WM, ironing uniforms *and* S&S kitchen and bathroom) then take just 2 or 3 rooms each week and try to do at least the first level of flying there, so you follow one list over 2 weeks. Or how about a concerted family effort for half an hour on one of your weekend mornings?
As Yorkshirelass has said, long-term decluttering is the big key to success! But Valli's mantra "Don't put it down, put it *away*" is one that you should teach your children (and yourself!!!) to put into practice asap . The difference it has made to my life since my DH began putting his belongings away (or at the very least moving them to his garage) and learnt where I keep all the kitchen equipment is truly amazing and our house stays so much tidier :T We now just have to work on how to deal with clothes that he's only worn for a couple of hours and still have life in them... we're getting there!
My list for today:
- [STRIKE]start stew in SC[/STRIKE] - did this when I went down to make the early cuppa
- take gas ring to church by 9.30 to help heat up soup for lunches (the gas main is being replaced)
- walk with friend for an hour - thank goodness it's a dry day, though a bit cloudy
- Lent lunch at church (probably soup, bread and cheese - so that will be soup only for me if I'm going to keep on the SW plan)
- church notice board still needs to be sorted- this includes tidying up and printing out some of the photos that I downloaded yesterday from the camera cards
- website billing still needs to be sorted - DH forgot to leave me a phone number before he went out last night
- QHI
- Sew up knitting and find suitable buttons
- Freecycle bookshelves and old camera (and anything else I've forgotten)
- Put up the mini-greenhouse
- Ask DH *again* to help with trellis
- Put down plastic sheets in downstairs bedroom
- Empty some more of the utility
My shoulder was **** yesterday so I'm trying not to do much gardening yet, as it involves a lot of digging . Might have to employ my friend's son for a day or two
Hope everyone has a productive day. (((Hugs))), spoons and sticks on offer, as required!0 -
Morning all = late again but only 'cos not logged in. I have been up since 2.45 - coughing still!!!
Wonderful news about your cat's improvement Natty.
Tigerfeet I'd echo what others have said - don't bust a gut trying to get it all done in 2 days. I use a timer to help get myself motivated - 15 minutes at first. It is really surprising what you can do in 15 mins!!! Then I increase to half an hour. I usually concentrate on main rooms then that spurs me on to others.
Just at the moment nothing being done at all - so hey ho it will be there another day.
Off to local museum - it opens beginning of April until end October and I am hoping to volunteer!!July 16 £95/£200
Nov 16 £0/£200

Afternoon all.
Natty, let's hope your cat is improving xxxx
Not much done today but I'm getting more done due to the thread.
Love, hugs & spoons x0 -
Well I don't believe it.. I asked for a miracle last night, and I got one.
Last night before I went to bed all of a sudden Amy got up and started demanding food. She ate a whole pouch of food.. Although this could be to her doing one almighty sneeze, it was so violent she ended up falling over backwards and a huge clot of blood came out of her nose.
This morning she was up and demanding her breakfast from Dave, while he was feeding the others. She was out in the kitchen begging and mewing for her breakfast as if nothing had happened. She polished off her bowl of food and then knocked the kitten out of the way and ate what he had left..
She acknowledged me when I went and stroked her, and she has given herself a really good wash. There doesn't seem to be any nasally sounds coming from her or breathing from the mouth. Actually she seems really content. Her breathing seems really normal now, apart from the very loud purring when I stroke her..lol I've given her some food that she has eaten as well, so I think in total she has probably polished off two and half pouches since 11.00 last night.
I am so confused as she was almost comatose all day yesterday, and I really did think her time was up.
So it looks like I will ring her vet up later this morning and have a word with her to see if we can have the longer lasting steroid now as this one has kicked in. She was only given a 4 day one as the vet wasn't sure if it would actually work and didn't want to give a dearer one incase it didn't work. It took longer to get into her system this one, but it looks like it got there. Although if you had seen her yesterday you would have thought it hadn't worked at all. Now let's see if it shrinks the tumour a bit for her..
I'm so glad I listened to my friend and gave it another 24 hours.. Ok it may only give me limited time with her but her quality of life is certainly getting better now.
I am so sorry for worrying everyone..and thank you so much for the supportI expect some of you feel like you have been going through this with me..lol
I'm very tired again today; I seem to be having one "reasonable" day followed by one day with no spoons to speak of, just lately.
Not helped, either, by Mr LW mislaying a pile of clean hankies. He said last night that the hanky drawer was nearly empty (15 left in there - I counted them, so my idea of "nearly empty" and his are two different things). So anyways, I put a towels'n'hankies wash on; but when I counted the hankies on getting them out of the machine, there were only 12 that were washed, and I know for a fact we have about 50. So what had become of the others?? We checked everywhere we could think of - and it finally turned out the silly devil had put them in the bed drawer with the clean bedlinen!:rotfl:We're putting it down to a Senior Moment.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
At 15:00 my stress levels will peak, DS2 will be mid driving test and DS1 starting his interview. I found a penny on the driveway when I came back from my walk, I'm hoping they can share the luck.
I'm having a cuppa now, first since breakfast which is unheard of. then I shall start to cook dinner and fly a bit.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
