  • Hi everyone. Unfortunately the meeting today didn't go so well. I have been suspended on medical grounds. I am extrememly upset. I went straight to see my social worker who has arranged an appointment with my psychiatrist and herself on Friday morning. I then went to see my GP (second time today). My social worker and GP aren't quite sure that what my work are doing is actually allowed. My Doctor and social worker both think me working is the best option. However, work obviously disagree.

If I can get a healthcare professional to say in a letter that I can work unsupervised, work in a dispensary and work dispensing medication then I can return to work sraight away. However, my social worker doesn't think work can ask for information in this manner and needless to say my Doctor wouldn't/couldn't write a letter. So it looks as though I will have to wait to go through the process of work refering me to a Doctor and them saying if I'm OK to work. Area manager thought that I'd get an appointment in about 10 days

    *sigh* what a crap day!

Apparently I have the Crisis team visiting me later this evening.

sorry to hear about your day RBK hope the Crisis team have been able to help you out.

Why do people make life so hard when all you want to do is work it makes me so mad when people are always going on about people who are not prepared to work and dont want to get a job then when we do they dont want us to work:confused: what a confused world we live in.

Anyway take care and i hope the outcome is good for you.

I wouldn't really know what to do to be honest. My friend once came to me saying the same sort of things-he took his watch and phone and smashed them up because he thought they were bugged. We contacted his father who came to collect him. After seeing him for 2 minutes he decided it was best to get him hospitalised.

It all depends if your friend is in that same sort of state-utterly convinced people are against her etc. If so, she may need an emergency doctor. But she may not be that bad-you know her best.

Sorry I can't be anymore helpful, I'm no expert, thats just my experience.

Oh Shaz have a !!{hug}}. When I feel really anxious I find expelling some energy helps - just stand and pretend to box, even for a minute or two to dispel the anxious hormones.

Gill07 - I know it is difficult to get help for another person, especially as they may not realise they need it. I wonder if you ring NHS direct (08454647) they may be able to give you some practical advice?
