Hi everyone, hope you are all okay. Really been struggling over Christmas, apart from my dr thinking that I may have SAD as I am always ill in winter. I had a really bad encounter with a psychiatrist who was rather rude to me and made me want to kill myself. Been panicking all over xmas because I was meant to see her next week but a woman that works with my CPN kindly phoned up the office and explained what had happened and told them that I refused to see her again.
Just needed a chat
I have had some great counsellors who are worth their weight in gold but there are ones who are dreadful - I had one turn on me after 6 sessions, I don't know if it is part of the therapy but I found it very counterproductive. They don't know the damage they do and it makes me angry when they make people feel worse when they are in a fragile place.
Btw I love cats and they are extremely comforting when you are low. I still miss mine and can't have one just now.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi! :hello:
Are you going to see another psychiatrist? It might be a good idea to ask your doctor to re-refer you to someone else. They're not all horrible, and some are quite nice. Mine had the same taste in shoes as meI know that's completely superficial, but we were wearing the same shoes and somehow it made me feel better. I like shoes.
Is that your cat in your avatar? Cats don't seem to like me
Hi, I am seeing another psychiatrist but it might not be until end of March onwards. To be honest Im not too keen on going back lol. I've had a brilliant CPN and would love to continue appointments with her but was only meant to have 8 and am nearing the 20 mark. Takes me a while to build up confidence with people face to face so I dont think a few sessions once every month are going to help to be honestWin £2008 in 2008 member's club number 302008: Iguana, 2 x Cadbury DVD, 3 x Book, Mascara, Chubby Brown DVD, Asterix Wii Game, 3 Beanie Hats, Bag, Armband,

Thank you, I got told that alot over the Christmas period. I had just got confident enough to talk to people about my feelings and my CPN told me it was okay to cry and not a sign of weakness. Went into that room thinking that it was going to help and it made me feel awful. She told me not to cry as only babies cry, that my partner was going to leave me if I didnt pack it in. When I told her there was a lot of depression in my family she replied 'is that because antidepressants are a trend now?' She also told me there was nothing wrong with me but why would I want to work when I was on benefits. I wanted to scream but sat there and nodded and tried not to cry.
I tried to tell her about the past and she told me it didnt matter. It didnt matter that Ive had 8 jobs none lasting more than 6 weeks at a time and I had a breakdown each time, it also didnt matter that I had a less than normal upbringing which led me to see someone at 12. I came out feeling like rubbish but kept telling myself that was one persons opinion, 5 professionals had seen me and recognised a problem, I'm on DLA as I simply cant work and struggle with normal day to day things. Im still very upset about it all even though I never have to see her again
Sorry to have ranted
wow....    and this was from a a so called professional.... he/she should be struck off..... I would never dream of saying that to anyone.... no matter what..

A lot of people wanted me to complain, what if she was doing the same thing to others who didnt have anyone else to talk to. I laid in bed for days crying and wanting to die, if I didnt have my OH would have been terrible. I really dont want to put a complaint in as its her word against mine, a psychiatrist v a mental person lolWin £2008 in 2008 member's club number 302008: Iguana, 2 x Cadbury DVD, 3 x Book, Mascara, Chubby Brown DVD, Asterix Wii Game, 3 Beanie Hats, Bag, Armband,

You could talk to their superior as they are monitored by them and they will get a talking to about doing their job better. They won't improve if it isn't noted.
Word of warning, do not ever complain about your GP unless they really muck up or touches you in an inappropriate way. They strike you and your family off, as I found out to my dismay when I complained about his lack of compassion, to the practice manager. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:
