    Hey RBK :)

I have a britebox - it was expensive though I got it in their sale I *think* about £185 (looked on their site and they are £199 at the mo). A big outlay but I love it. It provides such a clear light. I have it on for a few hours a day on my desk as I work on the computer. It does seem to help me when I work and just make me feel less foggy when it is on. Whether it is the science opr placebo I don't know, i just know I like it!

When i do get negeative feelings it is usually fear of the future, worrying my one support (my mum) may die - as my GP calls it catastrophic thinking. Almost that thought of not being able to live for the moment as too worried about bad in the future. It does seem to be stemming off and not sticking in like this time last year. Now, it's like theres an automatic cut off in my head so I can't even make myself think such thoughts conciously let alone consciously. I over worry that I have no family and am at the bottom of the generation rung so to speak.

All our animals are cats - 13 officially adopted (all with problems so no one else would have them) and 3 foster cats - we specialise in nursing the ill/injured cats and in summer do hand rearing. I am well acquainted with litter trays!

AQA is www.63336.com - where you can work from home as a questionr esearcher. Proving a very useful extra income and also very enjoyable.

Enough about me (fascinating as I am!!)

Bunnie, please accept a big hug from me. I hope the GP can get you into a system of help - perhaps a local counsellor or CPN. I would say come here and let it all out - bottling it up doesn't help.

Queensway-boy: I *think* if you contact your GP they can provide a sort of prescription/note to take with you.

feelinggood It's good to see you posting :) How are things with you? Are you still going to the meetings? Are they helping?

Thanks for the advice re: self-harm. Glad to hear that it's helped you.

Nice to see you posting too :) I hope things improve for you, but I can understand you feeling like they won't. I was convinced things would never get better for me, but they have, and its a bit odd to be honest!

I'm still going to meetings, and I've started voluntary work. Its 13 months without alcohol and cigarettes and 6 months without overeating. Never thought that was possible.

    Take care xx

Work trial thingy on Monday is for a job as Events Consultant (I applied for Events Manager and other folks who applied for managerial jobs all got given consultant posts at less money). Hey ho, I can walk to work thus saving money on petrol. I have to be at the station for 7am though to get a train to London:eek:

OH has kinda apologised - as soon as I sent a text saying that I had won a flight, he was on the phone straightaway. Spoke to him this morning too - he's looking forward to taking me skiing in March.

Went out with some chums last night which was fab, we had a meal out and a good chinwag back at theirs. Kept up a lot last night by one of the girls upstairs gawd knows what she was doing but it involved lots of squeaky springs and sounded like she was pumping up a rubbery airbed (the mind boggles) her chum was none to pleased and kept shouting at her to be quiet (hope to catch them in later to have a whinge and perhaps take some WD40 for the bed springs). I cant be doing with noise when I am trying to get to sleep and I dont want a repeat performance tonight because I have to be up at 5am tomorrow:eek:  (need to get ready for work, take drops etc and walk to the station).

Went shopping today - no need to buy food now for the next 2 months (unless I buy some eggs, milk and fresh veg). I Tesco'd and Lidl'd - even bought myself a shredder and a labelling machine (handy as I know someone who has a box of the labels that can be used in the machine so I can blag some free ones). I also treated my car - and had it washed for the first time since I had it serviced in July. I had it done at Tesco and they charged me a fiver - but they are good as you leave your keys with them, they move it to where they clean and then they move it back. A good wash, wax, leather, wheels and outside windows.

Dunno about my eyes - I now rattle with all the steroid tablets I have to take plus steroid drops 4 x a day to both eyes. My vision gets blurry which is what happens when my eyes are getting used to seeing again with different pressures. I have a hospital appointment on 16 January so I shall wait and see.

Feel tired now as all shopped out - I even picked up a set of 3 gift boxes for £1.99 in Lidl but as they don't look too christmassy I shall use them for birthday presents.

Hope all is well with everyone?
  • Hi everyone

I don't yet feel confident enough to post regularly on here. I do read through your posts though and am thinking of you all. I relate to so much of what is said on here.

I'm back at work tomorrow after the holidays  Tomorrow's going to be a hard day. Got appointment with psychiatrist on Wednesday and counselling on Thursday.

DS, who is also depressed, is supposed to be going back to school tomorrow. He hasn't been for about 6 weeks and is getting very worked up about it. I can't see him making it myself but time will tell. Why is life so hard?

    Take care everyone

Jen - well done for posting and jump in more often. As they say a problem shared is a problem halved :cool2:

All the best for your son tomorrow. Does you have a support contact at his school - perhaps a school nurse or matron he could check in with quietly halfway through the day?
