    Morning everyone.

I wondered if anyone could help me out?
I got loads of paperwork to fill in from work but couldn't really make sense of it so I ended up going into work to go through it with them. It was dead simple to fill in too so I must have looked so dumb! :(
Anyway one of the forms is requesting medical records and I was told to leave that with doc. I went to see doc anyway who told me to leave them with reception. Reception said that I had to pay £17.50 to leave them?!?
Seems a lot of money for me to pay so someone else can look at my private info!

My question is...is this right? Or are they taking advantage of the fact that I can't even think straight at the moment to get money out of me??

Sorry, it just seems strange there was no notification of this prior to trying to hand them in, and I didn't have my purse so couldn't pay and had to fetch them away with me.

Also how much info do they see? Will they see things my psychologist has written??

Anyway sorry to bombard all this on you, I know it must look that I am very selfish what with my lack of support etc then jumping straight back in the moment I need something. I'm really sorry for this everyone - I sincerely mean that.
In all honesty I haven't been coping too well at all. My short term memory loss is getting worse and worse, and I just feel so low and exhausted.
Anyway my doc gave me another 4 week sick note. I am currently being weaned off my pills ready to start some new ones in the New Year.

I just wish I could be fixed :(
    And everyone else here too.
I might deserve to suffer, but am pretty sure that everyone else here doesn't. And my loved ones shouldn't have to because of me :(

dawnyloy, you do not deserve to suffer, none of us do.
cant understand why the doctor is charging you to look at forms, all my letters from various clinics my cpn, pychiatrist etc go straight to my gp, with no costs to myself. then again i have not worked for a long time, so that might make a difference?
sorry i havent been much help, hopefully somebody will be along soon, who knows the answers.
    big hugs love

Tiff why do your quotes come out like that (shaz quote above) instead of like my quote from you above:confused:

    ...or am I?!sSig_Muahaha.gif

In answer to your question, which I've quoted above in which you quoted my response to shaz, regarding why my quotes of posters are different from your quotes of posters, it all started about 2 months ago when I quoted another poster's question about meds, in my reply. When I quoted the poster, someone else posted quoting me, quoting the quote I'd posted from the original poster and giving me information about the medication as if it were I that had posted the question, but I hadn't; they just didn't notice the usual quote marks. They had also quoted my post instead of also quoting the op in a reply. So I had to reply again quoting my first reply and the original quote and quoting their quote to my reply to the op so that they understood that I wasn't posting the question, I was quoting it!

Ok, ok! I have it figured out now anyway, I think, (but don't quote me on that!) - so I'll come clean -
I'm blonde, okay?! You happy now?!!!:D :rotfl: ;)

    Hi dawny!:hello:
That's right I'm afraid, angel. There's a charge for form completion by your dr, unless you've got a really co-operative one and maybe you just need a signature.
Apart from that, there's a drs administrative fee charged.

The same applies if you want a photocopy of your medical records - of any kind - with the maximum amount being £50 for 25 copied pages or more. It is, however, free to view your records, under supervision, and make notes. You can't make any changes or take anything away from them. You should request this option in writing and send it to the Medical Records Manager & it generally takes a month to arrange. Hope this helps sweetie.sLo_hug2.gif
