roxsi!
How are you hun? I hope you've already been made to feel at home angel by the resident guardian angels.:T
quote=RoxsiScotland;
hi everyone, just wondering if anyone thought this would be a good idea -depression support penpals.
i suffer from depression and love getting post, so maybe we could all pair up and send the odd letter, card, and even money saving stuff like vouchers we cant use ect.
im only 22 but do get pretty lonely sometimes.
anyway, if anyone thinks its a good idea maybe we could start a new thread where everyone says a little about themselves and people can pm saying they want to penpal-up!
i dont know maybe its cheesy but hey!/quote
You know roxsi, I think there's nothing like the sound and sight of a handwritten letter hitting your doormat.;) I worry sometimes that letterwriting will become a lost art with the advent of email.:o
Having said that, we wouldn't find the help and compassion we have here, if it weren't for computers! Thicky Tiffy!
Ok - I'll play the bad guy! The one thing you have with contact via pm or email, is your privacy and security. I think it's a lovely idea but we should exercise just a little caution.;) After all, you don't want a Tiffster suddenly turning up on your doorstep!
I think it's a lovely and generous thought roxsi.:T I'm not against penpals - it's actually how I met my ex-husband! On second thoughts.....:D
I hope you'll still come here and join in - you're more than welcome here sweetheart.
Much Love,
Tiff xxx"If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought." ~ by Peace Pilgrim.***'You just got Tiffed!'***0 -
Hi ltd!:hello:
Good to hear from you again hun. I knew you were beavering away somewhere as usual.;)
quote=learning_to_drive;
Hi guys,
Hope you are all keeping well, have been online at work, but been so busy and kinda lost the thread a bit with this thread! So trying to catch up, obviously I will post updates with my thoughts and things once I read up on the various updates (20 pages of them).
Which Depression Thread Season are you on hun? This thread is Season 4! We keep moving home but you always find us.:D Just kidding angel.;)
For any posts episodes that you've missed, I'm now selling the Depression Thread box sets on ebay - just between you and me ok? I'll give you a good discount - just don't tell the others!
Its nearly a year since I first was diagnosed with stress / anxiety / depression and it makes you think once you get on an even keel how much you appreciate little things, like going into work with a clear mind, Im back to my normal stuff because Im getting worried about things again, like letters I need to post and ensuring I keep my affairs (banking and what not) in order.
I'm still on my AD's and have been attending counselling for around 2 months, that has really helped me to understand what happened, I need to get some coping methods built into that, but I found it very useful, the counsellor makes you think like you are important and they understand and help, its not for every one, and I was lucky to get mine at low cost.
I've done 9 weeks in my job now, which is a major achievement considering:
First Direct - 1 week
Tax Office - 2 weeks (half of it off sick)
Asda - 6 weeks
Wh Smiths - 4 hrs
Thomas Cook - 2 weeks (let go)
So its nice to get settled, ive done a good job and only have about a month of my contract left, however I've agreed to be seconded over the road to cover another similar role until they get someone else in to do that permanently. If I like it, then there is a chance that I could apply for it, but Im looking around for my next move, girlfriend and baby are doing well, shes 7 months now and crawling all over!
I hope you are all keeping well, sometimes we have to hit rock bottom before we can start to get better!/quote
Oh ltd - look how far you've come angel - I'm really happy for you!:T
It's good to hear that you finally feel happy at work hun - a long time coming but worth the wait.;)
Good luck in the job change - hopefully it might get you something permanent there.
And great news about the counselling hun.:j
Why didn't you go for the NHS counselling hun, out of interest?Still, it doesn't matter ltd - the results are the most important thing!;)
I'm glad the gf and baby are well and that you're all happy together hun. Cherish these precious times angel.;)
I'm very proud of you and I hope you praise yourself for all your achievements ltd. Take care angel.
Much Love,
Tiff xxx"If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought." ~ by Peace Pilgrim.***'You just got Tiffed!'***0 -

:hello: Karrie,
Nice to see you on herehope you feel better soon
just done my ironing and vaccuming, hair is now rather sweaty so having a break while waiting for cheese and onion quiche to cook as I am eating half with salad today, just got a nice drink of orange juice to cool me down as that does the trick, sometimes with me its the weather that gets me down and makes me feel low inside but then I just busy myself and get on with things to take the feeling of it away, yesterday was the first time I had felt better since the last 3 days I was rather bad and couldnt go food shopping,my daycentre,or walk with parents.I just wanted to crawl in my bed and just sleep, sleep and sleep,I had got overtired and the heat had got to me last weekend,at least now I can cope because its cool again.
love and light,
