    Ins
naughty ins from Boots. Used the 3 for 2 offer and a variety of coupons.
Effacular Duo. I'm counting this as necessary as my skins been so bad recently that I started to use a prescription cream, which was effective but much too harsh, and my skin was..shedding (sorry, tmi!).
s and g eyeshadow quad. Love s and g eyeshadow, reach for them as much as my UD's.
Loreal eau de teint foundation. have wanted to try this for ages as it's supposed to be a dupe for my ysl one.
Bourjois nail varnish remover. Needed this.
    Toenail clippers. Needed.
Naturals nail varnish clear x2. Needed these.
    Boots cucumber toner
    Boots clay mask
Spent £32.63, saved £16.37, and got 758 points, so quite pleased really!
I'm counting this as 4 ins, and a spend of £8.50, as the other things were needed and the coupons came off the unnecessary things (always the way!).

  • Some quick reporting before bed:

The remaining chunk of a Lush bubble bar - Wouldnt hoard for so long if I bought again as although it bubbled it didnt have much fragrance.

Lush dragons egg - WBA DD loves the crackling.

sachets of garnier unique blend shampoo & conditioner for dry frizzy hair - contained sulphate so UU on DD's hair - WNBA

Organix moroccan argan oil conditioner - WNBA this did nothing for my hair its very thick but seemed to weigh my hair down rather than moisturise it so ended up having to wash it more frequently.

Tiffanyjayne - I have never done a stashlist - but I found it helpful to group products together in my cupboard so see the full extent. I would like to say that my full shelf of shower gel always stops me buying more and it does sometimes but shower gel is one of my many weakenesses and I know I will continue to have many slips along the way.

Like a few of the other ladies I love nail polish - I have never used a complete one up - and the ones I love I want to keep forever. So I dont include polish in my stash.

  • I decided to just count my varnishes and keep track of how many i use up this year, I decided against a stash list and instead just a list of what i hope to have used up in the coming month until it's at a manageable level, i had a clear out 2 weeks ago and now have 3 large house moving boxes full of creams and gels waiting to be reshelved when I've used up the current ones :)

    You're welcome! ;)
Oooooh! Have wanted to try the bliss capsules for a while but they're so pricey. Are they worth it? I have a 10% code for TTS too... :D

I haven't used them yet as I'm working through my Lancome dreamtone serum first, I have heard wonderful things about them though!

I love PCMC and the Pro-collagen cleanser (both anti-aging) but the Bliss capsules did not seem to make much difference to my skin, perhaps because everything else I am using does it's job well, who knows.

I noticed some discussion on SPF earlier, I have understood for some time that serious anti-aging products and SPF cannot be successfully combined. I either use a BB cream or Mineral Make up with SPF of 15, or in summer use a separate SPF such as Clinique Cityblock 30 or 40. It's a pain having to add another layer, but at my age I see no choice.

Many of us are dedicated devotees of Beauty Mouth blog by Caroline Hirons, she has just updated her "cheat sheet" on Routines which some may find useful, including advice on Spf, as well as how to get the best use from our products. HTH

    http://www.carolinehirons.com/2013/06/routines-cheat-sheet.html

To me, the best anti-ageing protection is sun protection, but I am more bothered about pigmentation as I am quite freckly and prone to moles, I certainly don't need any more appearing on my face :(

Be careful about using powder make-up as your only spf, it's been said you'd have to look like Barbara Cartland before you get enough coverage to benefit from the spf!

You could use your PCMC as a night cream while you use up your spf day creams. I think the factor of the spf you need will depend on your skin type, how much, if any time you will be spending outside and at what time of day. I think there is a body of opinion against using a high factor, when in some conditions we should be using a lower factor, but renewing it more often, but it is quite a while since I read that and cannot remember the details, you should be able to do some research if you wish.

Don't forget that you really need to do a proper double cleanse after using spf in any form otherwise it will clog the skin.

I chose the Clinique 40 because I am fair skinned and spend quite a lot of time outdoors gardening etc. in the summer, when I was office bound and didn't get much outdoor time until evening, 15 was OK I thought, although I wasn't aware how much damage could be caused while driving then.

Sorry if this is a bit of a waffle:(

I haven't found spfs clog my skin.....

Another thing to keep in mind, in the summer especially, is the amount of time spfs stay on your skin. If you are wearing make-up and/or won't be re-applying every couple of hours, go for one that stays on your skin longer.

Going for a high spf does nothing if it wears off after a couple of hours.

I use this one as it stays on for up to 8 hours, opposed to their normal face ones that stay on only about 2 hours. I looked forever to find non-greasy non-heavy ones and this is just about perfect, and always on offer!

In the winter I always use spf30 (Olay or Body Shop) but I've been having laser hair removal and they recommend using spf 30 minimum.

    UU no (10)/(25 for yr)

Lush candy mountain I usually only get about 3/4 baths out of this but I've been frugal and it will be 5/6 this time. Didn't notice any less bubbles :)

Thank you kadison, as previously mentioned I am off to Dubai later in the year and do not want a repeat performance of last year's tasche due to pigmentation  I will pick up some of the Soltan stuff on Saturday as I'm taking DD birthday shopping (another ) We are also looking to go to Barcelona around Easter so I might get to test drive it before our big holiday :) I spend most of my working life indoors so find that SPF 15 is enough to see me through, day to day.

UU #49: Palmers Olive Oil Formula Shampoo 300ml; It's finished! _party_ WNBA, it's not terrible but as I don't wash my hair very often it's been a real LHJ and it still dried my hair despite being "sulphate free"; although having read up on it since purchasing, it appears that the surfactant is just as harsh as SLS and its counterparts. Will rummage through my stash for a replacement, probably Osmo colour save.
  • Rearranged my stash so I have 1 or 2 of each type of product on my dressing table - gives me a little bit of choice what to use each day but will focus n using up each one so I can start on the stuff in the cupboard.

1 success already - UU REN eye gel (mini). Would love a full size one but cant afford it, its going on the wishlist.

    Morning!

    UU:

    58. Elemis Pro-Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream 15ml - WMBA, but think I prefer the PCMC for night use - the night cream was perhaps a little heavy for my (not-too-mature-yet and oilyish) skin.

    59. Philosophy Cranberry Medley 60ml - smells divine (and the smell really lasts!) and is very moisturising without taking ages to absorb or being sticky. However, given the price I doubt I WBA as I get through lotions so quickly! Not sure if you can even buy this on its own anyway. I've been using the fruitcake trio (maple scrub and vanilla cake mix shower gel) and it's fab - but does make me want cake! I have another two sets stashed but likely to GA as presents as they make a lovely gift in the tin.
