amberfinn - I like the Garnier Caffeine Eye roll on for under eye circles but how effective it is depends on how dark they are. It would be worth a go and then check out Goss Make up artist on youtube and his advice on covering dark circles.

nillionare - I like Clinique all about eyes but in your shoes would probably give the Aldi ones a go first.

    Good idea!

I normally get it from this place, they have free gift offers on ALL the time and if you try it and like it, it's worth getting this set, the 100ml marine cream is normally £135 so you're saving £27 and getting the bliss capsules freeeeeeeeeeee!

Oooooh! Have wanted to try the bliss capsules for a while but they're so pricey. Are they worth it? I have a 10% code for TTS too... :D

Trying to multi- quote,a apologies if it doesn't work.........when my OH is none too happy at yet another beauty parcel showing up, I'll just show him this thread and tell him you lot made me do it! :rotfl:

Oh I've taken to getting all my parcels delivered to work and sneaking them home bit by bit - I think it's kinder on my OH as he then doesn't need to stress about my toiletries habit, and it's my money to spend! He got a little upset at the weekend and said the spare room is like walking into a branch of Boots. Quite insulted as I'm making pretty good progress! :rotfl:

I love PCMC and the Pro-collagen cleanser (both anti-aging) but the Bliss capsules did not seem to make much difference to my skin, perhaps because everything else I am using does it's job well, who knows.

I noticed some discussion on SPF earlier, I have understood for some time that serious anti-aging products and SPF cannot be successfully combined. I either use a BB cream or Mineral Make up with SPF of 15, or in summer use a separate SPF such as Clinique Cityblock 30 or 40. It's a pain having to add another layer, but at my age I see no choice.

Many of us are dedicated devotees of Beauty Mouth blog by Caroline Hirons, she has just updated her "cheat sheet" on Routines which some may find useful, including advice on Spf, as well as how to get the best use from our products. HTH

Sorry for all the posts! Catching up...

That looks like a great deal. The PCMC lasts ages, IIRC my 15ml pot lasted me almost two months used once a day, it goes much further than other facial moisturisers I find. I LOVE the balm cleanser! Just started a huge pot of it after a three month switch and can see and feel the improvement after only three days. I'm just about finished a pot of the night cream, it's ok but I'm not so struck by it as the normal PCMC. Not a fan of the cream cleanser. Enzyme peel is nice!

hammyham - I quite often use PCMC day and night, it is very moisturising but not heavy at the same time IYSWIM. Doesn't clog the skin, and you only need a teeny bit, particularly for day use. HTH - and I think it's a travesty that it is languishing unloved in your stash! :)

To add to what maddimay has said I too read Caroline Hirons blog and what she said makes a lot of sense (expensive mosituriser with SPF is basically an expensive SPF as you lose out on the benefits) Although she relies on SPF from makeup I do tend to use a separate LRP SPF for my face. The bonus is I can use my moisturiser for day and night as I have combination skin I don't tend to use a heavy one anyway.

ooh quite excited to start my pcmc now! I'm trying to phase out my spf face creams (I have a tonne in the stash though) and am thinking of buying Clinique's city block to use over my non spf day creams (if that makes sense?). I'm not sure whether to go for spf25 or 40 though? xxx

  • An IN for me, finally got hold of Lush Brazened Honey Face Mask:j my fav and my skin is so rubbish at the moment. Didn't think much of the bunny bathbombs in Lush through and I quite liked the sound of them, still a restrained trip:T
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales
  • thanks dolly84!

An unexpected UU tonight ladies, Satin care Shaving gel with aloe vera (from gilette) 75ml, bought on a whim as I never use shaving gel and thought I'd treat myself for a bit. Lovely product but will probably go back to the good old conditioner method for penny pinching purposes :P

Having a pamper night to de-stress, just had a bath using thisworks deep sleep shower gel (as a bubble bath), used my current face scrub as a make shift mask, shampooed and conditioned my hair and shaved my legs. Just got out and applied body lotion, cleansed, toned and moisturized my face. Last jobs are eyebrows, manicure and pedicure :D

You could use your PCMC as a night cream while you use up your spf day creams. I think the factor of the spf you need will depend on your skin type, how much, if any time you will be spending outside and at what time of day. I think there is a body of opinion against using a high factor, when in some conditions we should be using a lower factor, but renewing it more often, but it is quite a while since I read that and cannot remember the details, you should be able to do some research if you wish.

Don't forget that you really need to do a proper double cleanse after using spf in any form otherwise it will clog the skin.

I chose the Clinique 40 because I am fair skinned and spend quite a lot of time outdoors gardening etc. in the summer, when I was office bound and didn't get much outdoor time until evening, 15 was OK I thought, although I wasn't aware how much damage could be caused while driving then.
Sorry if this is a bit of a waffle:(
