No buying unnecessary toiletries March 2014

I don't know why I did it!!
Just got home from doing some errands and appear to have picked up shampoo/conditioner at some point for no apparent reason!
3 Ins - Alberto Balsam Shampoo x2 Conditioner x1 - I always get through shampoo faster for some reason, with Boots 3for2 and a coupon this cost me £1.90.
However I do not, in any way, shape, or form NEED hair stuff. The only defence I have is that I have a friend who raves about this stuff and it's really cheap whereas I tend to use pricier suff and I'd save money if I downshifted. However I won't save money if I keep buying things when I don't need it and sales keep coming round!

Bought a bottle of Sure roll on deodourant today. My current bottle is about to run out.
Still working hard to get some more UU's through. I'm finding a lack of momentum is making me feel more inclined to buy toiletries.0 -
TiffanyJane: I never declared what I own. I'm just too lazy.
Having said that, I find that just by posting what I've used up gives me a push to keep using what I have.
I may never use up all my eyes shadows. I probably have five years worth of mascara and untold lipsticks.
But I'm finding that by using up my minis and foil samples the quantities are diminishing. I make sure that if I travel, I stock my wash bag with samples from home and do not take anything home unless it's something ultra posh.
At Christmas, my gym had a donation drive for the local womens shelter. I did manage to move out most of my hotel acquistions of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, etc. Added in some mascaras and handcreams.
I may actually have everything under the bathroom sink by the end of the year.0 -
Hello ladies!
Happy belated birthday to Ruby Eskimo!
4 recent UU:
TBS wild cherry pur!e body lotion 60ml
TBS wild cherry body scrub 200ml I would buy both of these again, but sadly they have been discontinued, they are pink candle items that I decided I would use before they went off.
Lacoste touch of pink shower gel 50ml
Argan oil 10ml
16 days and no unnecessary INs! (I did buy deodorant and face scrub, but I don't stash these anymore! Progress!)0 -

maybe if i book a week off work i'll have time to get it done x
Keep up the good work ladies x
You don't have to do a list, I never did, couldn't face dragging everything out of various drawers and boxes:eek: what I eventually did was to sort items by type, then knowing (roughly) what I had helped me cut down on purchases.
So please pop in and join us:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

I find it a bit like dieting, the first couple of weeks you lose a few pounds (or products) and that carries you through the next couple of weeks where you lose a pound (or UU an already almost finished pot of body butter
) and then you hit that STAY THE SAME wall that has you reaching for the jam doughnuts (or the Avon catalogue or the TSV or your nearest Boots, whatever's your Achilles heel
)
I have no advice but I just wanted to sympathise! And now I want a jam doughnut0 -
moneyless_mac wrote: »VALM - I am currently using the clinique balm cleanser and having much more success with it than the Elemis and Emma Hardie ones I have tried recently. That said it appears to be everlasting and will probably still be going at Christmas.
To be fair I'm not sure if I have ever tried a Clinique cleanser. I think any Clinique products that I've tried have been GWPs when I have bought my mascara and lipglosses in the past or magazine freebies.
I'm only passing on the cleanser as I generally can't use foaming cleansers as they dry my skin out.wondercollie wrote: »Clinique's Take the Day off for eyes and lips is my pet hate. Got multiples of them as gwps. I find it stings my eyes.
Hope you have better luck, Valm!
Have used the Take the Day Off twice so far and already am very impressed by it. I know other ladies here rave about it and I'm glad I took them up on their recommendation. It certain removes everything. It does have a slight oily feel but nowhere near the oiliness I found with the No7 eye make up remover. The oiliness if gone once I've cleansed too. Have TA the Sainsbury's own eye make up remover that was on the go (was about one fifth of the bottle left) as I can't see the point of using something that's useless for the sake of it. Oooh, I feel like a loose cannon :rotfl:
Went to ASDA for the food shop today and did buy some items though they were mostly for Emma. She asked me if I would get her some Biore nose strips. I know some of you ladies use them so am passing on the news that ASDA has them at a third off at the moment. I picked up 2 x packs of the Ultra ones and a tube of the Pore Unclogging Scrub for her.
I also picked up a pack of four bath lillies for £1.00 as we've had ours on the go for a while.
Have opened my Lush Porridge soap and have also started using a Grace Cole Nectarine and Pear shower gel and lotion set I got for Christmas. Am pretty impressed by how smooth my skin is after using the shower gel alone.
Repainted my nails yesterday for the St Patrick's party and am wearing OPI Nein Nein Nein OK Fine. Tipped some more OPI Nail Thinner into my Essie Good to Go before and whilst it's performing OK it's very thin and runny now. Roll on 30 March when I can get my hands on the new bottle.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Gonna go now. Time to put my feet up, have a glass and wine and watch some telly. Think I'll catch up on The Walking Dead tonight.
Night, ladies.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

UU
Simple Eye Balm - fine but I've got one in my stash so no need to repurchase
Started using Lidl Orange Sky shower gel- pleasantly surprised at quality for 45p! Also brought out my Superdrug Swiss Apple Serum and Cien anti wrinkle cream. Feel like skin looks pretty good today.0 -
Val- I need to find an empty bottle I'm sure I won't be able to use the whole sachet in one go! Hopefully they'll get back to you tomorrow:rotfl:
A couple of UU in the past couple of days!:
Toni&Guy iron it heat defence spray- this was the old one before they rebranded the range. I'm gutted I can't get this anymore because its absolutely perfect. Leaves my hair shiny and calms frizz, protects it from straighteners and smells gorgeous. I have an Asda one to use for now but will look at the new range to see if they've changed it. If not I may have to pay an exorbitant price on eBay!
Soap&glory girligo spray on body lotion- the most useless and infuriating product I have ever had the misfortune of receiving. Tried to be a lotion and body spray and ended up being terrible at both. I even tried using it as a bathroom spray but it made the floor slippery so I tipped the last cm down the sink because it was that annoying. Hurray!Toiletry spend £34.95 In: 10 out:130 -
I ate said jam doughnut; it was unsatisfying and TOTALLY
not worth the calories. I need to remember my analogy when I'm passing by Superdrug tomorrow0
