Lists: mine took me a good while! Prob took about 5-6hrs to do my 'draft' list and then I wrote it all out by item type into a journal!
No UU or ins although I did order a 3 pack of l'occitaine hand creams after having a shot of my boss's one yesterday, oops! It really is a HG item though! No more unnecessary toiletries Feb 2014 INS: 24 UU: 13. Mar 2014. INS: lost count, naughty step for me! UU: 80 -
I find it a bit like dieting, the first couple of weeks you lose a few pounds (or products
) and that carries you through the next couple of weeks where you lose a pound (or UU an already almost finished pot of body butter
) and then you hit that STAY THE SAME wall that has you reaching for the jam doughnuts (or the Avon catalogue or the TSV or your nearest Boots, whatever's your Achilles heel
)
I have no advice but I just wanted to sympathise! And now I want a jam doughnut
Ha ha - I fancy a jam doughnut too now... I agree though, I think it can be a bit like dieting. And with diets, you do kind of think 'oh I've blown it now, I might as well have a real splurge'0 -
I have a new-found resolve not to buy anything after putting myself way off the rails courtesy of the Avon rep.
Tiffanyjayne, I'm another who has never made a list. I'd be rather embarrassed actually as most of my stuff is very run of the mill and boring (though very good value; a lot of it is Aldi Lacura). My stash is mostly Avon and slowwwly going down. I do have a Project Pan list which is a short list of items I am hoping to use up by the end of this month.
Another UU: Aldi Lacura 3 in 1 facial wipes for mature skin. These are my preferred brand and luckily were in stock the other week so I had a pack in the stash.
My Lacura eye cream is spluttering. They have stopped making this one, which is a 15ml tube. I'd had this a while and needed to UU it before it went off.
I do have a part used bottle of the very good Lacura eye cream that is currently stocked to replace it, but it's a pump pot and almost impossible to judge how much is left.
Fortunately eye cream is one of those things that isn't absolutely essential. I've found that using it as a lip and lip area cream is paying good dividends. I have a couple of tiny lines appearing around my lips. These are really ageing once they get a grip and I really want to minimise them for as long as possible.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Evening ladies. :hello: It's been a beautiful sunny day here today, I hope the sun shone on you all.tiffanyjayne wrote: »I so want to be involved in what you guys are doing, i keep spying on the thread but i simply have too much stuff to list
maybe if i book a week off work i'll have time to get it done x
Keep up the good work ladies x
I have a couple more use ups from my new Project Pan list. I finished the 35ml sample sized Radox Daily Elements Pure Clear Deodorant and I certainly wouldn't bothering buying this. It didn't stop me sweating at all (though nothing ever does) and I wasn't keen on the powdery smell. I don't actually think they make this any more anyway.
The Botanics Enriching After Colour Conditioner 75ml is also gone. This smelt gorgeous and left my hair nice and soft but it came with a Botanics semi-permanent hair colourant which I wouldn't buy again.
Lastly I used the Ralph Lauren Polo Sport Cleanse Moisturising Spa Wash 7ml sachet. I liked the invigorating smell but it was like moisturiser and didn't lather at all so was useless with my body puff. I wouldn't buy it.
Night all.Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician....0 -
To be fair I'm not sure if I have ever tried a Clinique cleanser. I think any Clinique products that I've tried have been GWPs when I have bought my mascara and lipglosses in the past or magazine freebies.
I'm only passing on the cleanser as I generally can't use foaming cleansers as they dry my skin out.
Sorry Valm I thought it was the balm cleanser you had bought not the eye make up remover.
Must confess I have been tempted by the eye make up remover but have so far managed to resist as I get along with the Garnier soothing 2 in 1 and its a fraction of the price. No more buying toiletries0 -
Mcculloch - I had a sniff of the wilko Rhubarb today and it isnt what I expected - they seem to have made it into one of those shower gels that smell a bit like yogurt. Luckily I wasnt a fan.
UU
A shampoo & conditioner sachet from kerastase that came through the post - sadly it had sulphates so used on DD's hair - probably WNBA
Lots of ebay outs - mostly in the form of samplesNo more buying toiletries0 -
I sorted through my varnishes last night, i don't know how to add a photo but i just counted them on the photo and it shows 98 of them, i have around 6 i know are upstairs and i've not checked my boxes
i think i have issues.
I do have my first UU's though -
I put all my foil and tiny samples into a draw last week and managed to use up 6 tonight
Get Fruity Lemon body wash from wilkos - this smelled yummy and lathered up great, if i didn't have 100's of other washes i'd by it again.
Scholl heel repair cream - This got to work really quickly and didn't leave my feet greasy so i'd be sure to buy it again.
Origins GinZing moisturizer - This smells amazing, like 100's of fresh orange peels, it felt nice on my skin but i didn't notice enough effect to buy it over others.
E45 lotion samples - Nope, i don't see what all the fuss is with this, it takes ages to dry into the skin and is quick thin compared to others.
St Ives apricot scrub 30ml - Now this is a little bottle of loveliness, it was so much more scrubby than the others on the market at the minute and didn't leave me oily, i'd buy it once my others are used up
Ins:
Latest in beauty box (a gift so no cost)
2x body shop washes (put in my Christmas gift stash)
Glamour mag lipgloss
Crabtree and Evelyn handcream Free
Nails INC polish Free0 -
Moneylessmac, thanks, I don't really like the yogurty washes, I think it was Radox who do/did those so I can happily avoid the Rhubarb SG too.
Tiffanyjane, good to see you back.
I know one of our regulars doesn't include nail polishes in the challenge - I don't as I don't use it!
I agree with you about St Ives scrub, nice stuff. Amazon gave me a facial brush to review so I don't need to use scrubs now, but this was lovely.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Morning ladies! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and made the most of the sunshine.
I have UUs from the past few days:
53. John Frieda Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery Intensive Mask 25ml - WMBA, poor VFM and prefer bottles of this type of product but it did leave my hair feeling very soft and sleek. 8 left of these!
54. Soap & Glory Butter Yourself 300ml - WMBA, nice fruity scent and very moisturising but absorbed well and non-sticky. I have a couple of others left.
55. M&S Magnolia Moisturising Shower Cream 50ml - WDNBA ever - hate the scent and this was rubbish at lathering. Good riddance! This was a PP item.
56. Elemis PCMC 15ml - HG, WDBA and replaced with same from stash.
The bad news is that I placed an order for *a few* of the Sanctuary triple body butter sets from MrB - will report as INs once delivered.
Oh, and IN:
56. Chantecaille Lip Chic in Sunrise - this was my planned IN for the month and wasn't really unnecessary as this is for my weddingMFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0
