    Belated happy birthday Ruby_eskimo :bdaycake:

I'm back from my Edinburgh mini break. Had a lovely time wondering around some of the districts. Went to Southbridge and Morningside which had lovely independent shops, places to eat and lovely things to look at. Treated myself to a beautiful dove grey linen scarf from The White Company, which will be lovely for Spring time. Managed to avoid buying any toiletries :j.

I did pack really light as I was on public transport so stripped the toiletries down to less than my bare minimum. That's a real achievement for me. Even UU the hotels own hair/body wash mini. Always bring my own shampoo & conditioner as others make my hair really dull and tuggy.

Did have another UU too. Benefit total facial moisture 10mls. Liked this and my face did feel very moisturised. WNBA as is I used this every day I think it would be too rich for my oily skin. Fine for three days but that's all.

Heading out for a meal and the cinema tonight with bf. Looks like it will either be a Grand Budapest Hotel or need for speed. Can you guess whose choice is who's? :rotfl:

    Have a lovely weekend ladies.

    Have a lovely weekend ladies.

Glad you enjoyed your mini break.

I personally would choose Need for Speed though just to ogle at Aaron Paul. I'd watch Long Way Down for the same reason. I gave up on World War Z on Sky last night as I nodded off. Brad did look lovely in it but I think it's his mumbly voice that sends me to sleep. Good job I'm not Angelina I suppose! :rotfl:

So before I confess to my INs from the Trafford Centre I'll just mention the OUT I had this morning and forgot to post about:-

Yorkshire Soap Company minty soap. Last time I looked their website shop was shut but now it has been set up. Here is a picture of the cake slice soaps in their entirety. The slice sizes are really good - it's a shame they don't show them on here. As I bought mine at Christmas it had a little plastic reindeer stuck into the "icing".

    http://theyorkshiresoapcompany.co.uk/en/5-soap-cakes

Will be back there at Easter and will definitely be buying more. The soap is really lovely creamy quality and non-drying. I did however end up throwing the last bit away this morning - it was roughly the size of a 2p coin as it slipped out of my hand and landed outside the bath. Plus didn't want the dilemma we recently had when the plug holes got gunged up with soap.

So I went to the Trafford Centre.

In L'Occitane the Manager (who recognised me!) offered me the new fragrance to try - a Neroli one - and the accompanying lotion. Does smell lovely but to me is very similar to the Accacia one and I still have some of that fragrance left. Was very good and only bought MrM's Aftershave Balm though I was trying to tempt him to get other things to enable me to buy the half price "gift set". There's no hope. Anyway left there with a few samples extra only.

Went into Boots and picked up the 3for2 items I wanted however was then stuck with my original dilemma as the Boots in TC doesn't sell Origins. I was sure that they had before so I ended up buying Clinique All About Eyes and then also buying some Take the Day Off Cleanser to get the GWP. In my defence I was going to spend an extra £16.50 (as I had a Giftcard from the ladies at work) on the Origins eyecream anyway. Ended up spending £22.00 but got the lovely extras (out of which there is only the cleanser that I won't use but will pass onto Emma) and the SA let me use 2 of my coupons so I earned 882 AP. Also, in my defence I've been wanting to try Take the Day Off and had intended buying a small one from Ebay. Thought it was better to buy this than buy another mascara or lip gloss (which I was originally going to do).

    So INs:-

    Clinique All About Eyes 15ml
Clinique Take the Day Off 125ml

    Clinique GWP:-
    Foaming Cleanser 30ml
    Dramatically Different Moisturiser 30ml
    All about Eyes 7ml
    Even Better Make up 15ml
    High Impact Mascara 3.5ml
    Lip Gloss 7ml

    Bourjois Happy Light Concealer

I also got Essie Good to Go topcoat but this is for Emma to buy for my Mother's Day gift so can't count it as an IN yet.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

  • VALM - I am currently using the clinique balm cleanser and having much more success with it than the Elemis and Emma Hardie ones I have tried recently. That said it appears to be everlasting and will probably still be going at Christmas.

Glad to see you back Roguey and Fiasco (hope you had a great time)

Thanks for the advice on the Bare minerals Dolly - I did purchase some of the 'ready to go' but found it sat in my lines - the TSV price wasnt a lot different to the primer alone so hopefully a primer will help and I will have an opportunity to try the original formula as well as a few of the other items.

    An in:

Estee Lauder double wear powder in Cool Bone - this was OOS in Debenhams last week when I purchased the foundation. The cool bone seems to be a much better match than the 'fresco' I was matched to last year.

21 ebay outs - mostly samples and items from beauty boxes that I will never use.
    No more buying toiletries

Two friends have birthdays this month, they each got identical gift bags (actually Wilko "fox and owl" shopping bags) of different bits and pieces, chocolates, a mug, posh teabags ..and toiletries.
Wilko had 75ml tubes of their own handcream at 2 for £1, L'Aimant body sprays for £1 and their own lime shower gel at buy one for £1 get 1 half price, so those were the bargains I snapped up.
They also had rhubarb shower gel on the same buy 1 get 1 half price offer. You read right. Rhubarb.
It looked as if not a single one had sold.

When I need to find presents for birthdays I go shopping in my spare room!

Clinique's Take the Day off for eyes and lips is my pet hate. Got multiples of them as gwps. I find it stings my eyes.

Hope you have better luck, Valm!

I wonder if anyone can answer this one for me. The Body Shop sells facial blotting papers. They used have a metal holder for the pack of papers. It looked like a square compact with a mirror on the inside.

I recently lost mine and went today to get another to be told they don't carry them anymore. Is this only in Canada? Has anyone in the UK seen any in store?
