Barclaycard World MasterCard (Ex Egg Money) Being Replaced with Amex + Visa Combo

rounded this off yesterday, having had various payments for calls and inconvenience, and a nice lump of cashback, and having moved the bulk of my limit across to my BFR card, my Barclaycard Cashback account is now closed.

I'm having this same problem at Tesco pumps as well. Weirdly it even recognises it as "Barclays Amex" on the screen but doesn't allow it unless you go in the shop.

This must be a Barclays problem as American Express cards including Lloyds and MBNA usually work fine at tesco pumps.

Has anyone contacted Barclays to inquire about their non-dual account which was promised after three months? I managed to get £70 from them in the end, in the letter they sent they mentioned about the new account e.t.c. I haven't had a chance to call them yet and just wondered if anyone has?

I called them today and they said I could transfer to their freedom Barclaycard. I had a quick look and you get rewarded in points, the reward levels are significantly less than what my current cash-back cards offer!

yes, i have one of them which i have a BT on.. doesn't strike me as very appealing for spending, so sticking to Amex and CapOne.

Those of you who got the 6 months at 2%/1% cashback, what have you decided to do next? Is it worth trying to get them to extend it?

What cashback deal are you getting with Capital One ? - Does it beat the 1%/0.5% with Barclaycard ?
