Thanks for the welcomes, you seem like such a friendly bunch :D

It's a week since I went to the doctors and got myself some bathroom scales and have lost 8 lbs  although I realise some of that could be due to using different scales. I'm going to do another weighing on Wednesday (and then each Wednesday) so that it coincides with everybody else. Going to measure myself too tomorrow so that I can measure the loss in inches as well as pounds ;). Think I'm going to concentrate on getting two stone off before excercising and then probably start with walking!! It's so long since I've done any exercise.

I admit I haven't followed the plan properly this week....just jumped in without planning but I'm going to do some proper planning and baking this weekend (mmm chickpea cake :D)

    Thanks

    Katmad (or anyone),

As promised, a SW GREEN meal plan for the weekend and next week (we only do one evening meal on here, right? I think that's what I've seen previously.

Saturday: Quorn sausages, syn-free chips, fried eggs (fry light), beans (FREE)

Sunday: Quorn roast, mashed potatoes, mccain low-fat roasters, peas, carrots, gravy (3 syns for gravy, I like it thick lol)

Monday: Home made chili with quorn mince, chillies, peppers, onions, tinned tomatoes, vecon, tinned kidney beans. Served with boiled white rice. (FREE)
This will actually be part of a three course meal served to the wife and eaten at the table  lol... she's been really understanding this week so deserves it. Other two courses are roasted peppers stuffed with couscous and vegetables, and veggie-friendly jelly with Skinny Cow ice cream (3 syns)

Tuesday: Veggie casserole with daily allowance of HEb bread. (FREE if using 2 slices of HEb bread, add bread syns if not)

Wednesday: Vegetable madras, as found in the SW books, served with white rice. (FREE)

Thursday: Quorn mixed grill lol.... peppered steak, apple and bramley burger, cumberland sausages, fillet, beef style burger... served with Bachelors Savoury Rice. (2 syns)

Friday. Bachelors Pasta n Sauce with peppers, onions, chillies and Quorn Swedish Style 'meat'balls. (FREE)

Hope that's ok, I've never planned before :)
  • Hi I've just found this thread and it's just what I need. I was diagnosed with diabetes about twelve months ago and desperately need to lose weight (about 6 stones). I think the 5lb per month challenge is a good way to go for me and looking at the weigh-in lists it seems to be working for quite a few others.

    Evening Peeps :D

Crumbs what a wet and miserable day, never mind though.

...Ajax even to a non veggie your menu plan sounds really nice, I must try get round to trying some quorn but it's getting MrP to agree, I was looking at some in Tesco today but he said that he didn't want 'that rubbish' :o What would you suggest for a newcomer to quorn try first? If I find that I like some it'll be easier to get MrP to try it as well. We eat a lot of non meat meals but never quorn. I've found planning to be very helpful, I only show the evening meal because it's the only meal that we all eat together. Well done on giving MrsA a treat too  ...

...Hi lynndan16 and welcome to our happy band of losers :T There are other diabetics here so you will get loads of wise advice :) ...

...I hope everyone has a great weekend, remember that help is at your fingertips :j ...

I think this is the one Lubo. It does sound rather strange, but I think it's worth a go.
